Summary
This standard specifies the criteria for timely acquisition, processing and storage of seismic data records of nuclear power plants, including the initial assessment criteria, to determine whether the site earthquake exceeds the power plant base earthquake (OBE). This standard applies to land-based light water reactor nuclear power plants, other types of nuclear power plants can also refer to the implementation. This standard does not apply to the following procedures: Power plant inspection procedures (8h) that require immediate implementation after earthquakes; procedures to ensure safe and orderly shutdown; and long-term assessment of structural and equipment response data.
