Methods for chemical analysis of antimony and antimony trioxide Determination of the amount of mercury Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry

1 Scope

This section provides the determination of antimony and antimony trioxide in mercury content. This section is adapted to the amount of antimony and antimony trioxide - Determination of mercury in. Measurement range. 0.000020% ~ 0.0003%.

2 Method summary

Sample was dissolved in aqua regia, in hydrochloric acid medium, with potassium borohydride as a reducing agent, with argon as the carrier gas, and the resulting mercury vapor atomic import stone British furnace atomizer, the fluorescence intensity was measured on a mercury atomic fluorescence spectrometer.

3 Reagents and materials

This test water is highly purified water (resistivity greater than 18MΩ). 3.1 potassium borohydride. 3.2 hydrochloric acid (ρ1.19g/mL pure class distinctions). 3.3 nitrate (ρ1.42g/mL pure class distinctions). 3.4 aqua regia (1 + 1). three volumes of hydrochloric acid (3.2), one volume of nitric acid (3.3), and four volumes of water mixed preparation. 3.5 hydrochloric acid solution (95 + 1). 3.6 potassium hydroxide solution (100g/L is formulated with superior grade purity potassium). 3.7 solution of potassium borohydride (0.5g/L). Weigh 0.25g potassium borohydride (3.1), add 25mL of potassium hydroxide solution (3.6), add 475mL Water, dissolve completely when using existing service. 3.8 potassium dichromate solution (50g/L). 3.9 standard solution 3.9.1 Storage mercury standard solution. Accurately weigh 0.1354g dried 24h in advance with sulfuric acid mercuric chloride in 100mL beaker, add a small amount Dissolved in water, was added 50mL of nitric acid (3.3), 10mL potassium dichromate solution (3.8). Moved into 1000mL volumetric flask, dilute to the mark with water Degree, and mix. This solution containing 0.1mg of mercury per milliliter. 3.9.2 Mercury standard solution A. Pipette 10mL mercury standard stock solution (3.9.1) in 100mL flask, add 5mL nitric acid (3.3), 1mL potassium dichromate solution (3.8) diluted with water to volume, and mix. This solution containing 10μg per ml mercury. 3.9.3 Mercury standard solution B. Pipette 1.00mL mercury standard solution (3.9.2) in 100mL flask, add 5mL nitric acid (3.3), 1mL potassium dichromate solution (3.8) diluted with water to volume, and mix. This solution containing 0.1μg of mercury per milliliter. 3.10 Materials Argon (mass fraction ≥99.99%). shielding gas and carrier gas.

4 Instrument

Atomic fluorescence spectrometer, with a special mercury hollow cathode lamp. Under optimum working conditions for those who can reach the following indicators can be used. --- The detection limit. not more than 1 × 10-10g/mL; --- Precision. The fluorescence intensity was measured with a standard solution of mercury 2ng/mL 10 times, and the standard deviation should not exceed the mean fluorescence intensity 5.0%;
