This Standard is applicable to the continuously hot rolled steel strips produced by Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., as well as steel sheets horizontal-cut from steel strips and longitudinal-cut steel strips, hereinafter referred to as steel sheets and strips. 2 Normative References The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is applicable to this document. GB/T 18253 Steel and Steel Products – Types of Inspection Documents 3 General Requirements 3.1 The steel sheets and strips shall be packed neatly and tied tightly; the markings shall be firmly pasted; and the writing shall be clear. The packaging shall be able to ensure that the product shall not be loose or damaged during normal transportation and storage. 3.2 Packaging materials shall comply with relevant laws and regulations. 3.3 For steel strip packaging, the purchaser shall take appropriate protective measures to prevent the steel strip head from popping out and hurting people during the unpacking operation. NOTE: The removal of product packaging is a work with a certain degree of danger, and the user must take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of operators and equipment and property. 3.4 The functional description of related packaging components can be found in Appendix A (informative). Under the premise of ensuring the quality of packaging, the supplier can select suitable packaging components to replace the packaging components specified in this standard. 3.5 The packaging type (method) and packaging components of steel sheets and coils shall be specified by the supplier. If the purchaser has special requirements for packaging components, packaging type (method), bundle (package) weight, etc., it shall be negotiated when ordering and indicated in the contract. 4 Packaging and Marking 4.1 The packaging and marking of steel strips shall comply with the provisions of Table 1. For steel strips, if the user does not specify vertical packaging in the contract, horizontal packaging shall be adopted. The packaging and marking of the steel sheets shall comply with the provisions of Table 2. 4.2 The supplier can also choose to use the buckle-free bundling method, in which case the buckle is cancelled. 4.3 If the purchaser does not select the packaging method, the supplier shall determine the appropriate packaging method. 4.4 According to the requirements of the purchaser, the packaging and marking of the steel sheets and the steel strips may be different from those in Table 1~Table 2 after negotiation and agreement between the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in the contract. 4.5 The content of the finished product label includes the supplier's name, supplier's trademark, receiving organization, contract number, supply standard number, designation, size, furnace number, coil number (bundle number), weight and quantity, etc. 5 Transportation and Storage 5.1 Steel sheets and strips shall be waterproof and avoid collision during transportation. 5.2 Steel sheets and strips shall be stored in a dry and ventilated place. 5.3 Steel sheets and strips shall avoid contact with corrosive media. 6 Inspection Documents 6.1 Inspection documents must be issued for each batch of delivered steel sheets and strips. The inspection documents shall indicate as needed: supplier’s name and trademark, ordering and receiving organizations, contract number, product name, standard number and designation, size specifications, furnace number, coil number or package number, delivery weight, various test results, date, signature of the person in charge of the quality management department specified in the contract, etc. 6.2 Inspection documents can be provided in paper or electronic data format. 6.3 The type of inspection documents shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 18253. Under normal circumstances, the purchaser shall indicate the type of inspection documents when ordering. When the type of inspection document is not specified, it shall be determined by the supplier. NOTE 1: The quality certificate is a form of inspection document. NOTE 2: There are four types of inspection documents in GB/T 18253-2018, namely "2.1", "2.2", "3.1" and "3.2", among which "2.1" and "2.2" are based on types of inspection documents for non-specified inspections, "3.1" and "3.2" are based on the types of inspection documents for specified inspections. "Non-specified inspection" refers to the inspection conducted by the manufacturer in accordance with its own procedures to determine whether products produced by the same production process meet the requirements of the order; "specified inspection" refers to the inspection conducted on the delivered products or test units composed of partial products before delivery and according to the technical requirements of the order, so as to verify whether they mee the requirements of the order. Appendix A (Informative) Functions of the Package Components A.1 The functions of the packaging components used in the packaging of each product can be referred to the description in Table A.1. On the premise of ensuring the quality of packaging, the materials of the packaging components listed in the table can be replaced by other new materials. Table A.1 Types Functions of packaging components Steel strips 1. Strap: Fix the steel coil to avoid looseness during transportation. 2. Locker: Fix the strap. 3. Corner protection: Avoid damage from external force to the edge of the steel coil. 4. Anti-rust paper: Prevent the steel coil from rusting. 5. Plastic sheath: Reduce the volatilization speed of the anti-rust paper corrosion inhibitor and reduce rainwater's invasion on the steel coil. 6. Flat plate paper: It has a buffering effect to prevent steel coils from being damaged by external forces during transportation and stacking. 7. Internal peripheral wrapping plate: Prevent the steel coil core from being damaged by external force; prevent the anti-rust paper, plastic sheath, and corner protection from being damaged by external force; and reduce the rainwater's invasion on the steel coil. 8. External peripheral wrapping plate: Avoid damage from external force to the outer circumference of the steel coil; prevent the anti-rust paper, plastic sheath, and corner protection from being damaged by external force; and reduce the rainwater's invasion on the steel coil. 9. Round guard board at the end: Prevent the end face of the steel coil from being damaged by external force; prevent the anti-rust paper, plastic sheath, and corner protection from being damaged by external force; and reduce the rainwater's invasion on the steel coil. 10. Iron/paper inner corner protection: Avoid damage from external force to the inner ring edge of the steel coil; fix the inner peripheral wrapping plate and the round guard board at the end or the inner core anti-rust paper and the end face anti-rust paper to reduce rainwater’s invasion on the steel coil. 11. Iron/paper outer corner protection: Avoid damage from external force to the outer ring edge of the steel coil; fix the inner peripheral wrapping plate and the round guard board at the end or the inner core anti-rust paper and the end face anti-rust paper to reduce rainwater’s invasion on the steel coil. 12. Locker gasket: Prevent the locker from damaging the steel coil. 13. Cross locker: Avoid the deviation of the two cross straps. ......
