Foreword
This Document was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for
Standardization �C Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.
This Document was formulated by reference of GB/T 709-2018, EN 10051.2010 and ISO
16160.2012, as well as combined the actual situations of the Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
This Document replaced Q/BQB 301-2019 Hot-Rolled Steel Sheets and Strips �C Dimensions,
Shape, Weight and Tolerances. Compared with Q/BQB 301-2019, this Document made the
major technical changes as follows besides the structural adjustments and editorial
modifications.
--- Add the normative reference GB/T 709; and delete the year number of GB/T 8170;
--- Added Clause 3 "Terms and Definitions";
--- Change the size range in Table 1; change the minimum thickness of the heat-treated steel
plate in Table 1 to 2.0mm; change the maximum length to 15000mm; change the
minimum thickness of the hot-rolled steel strip to 1.0mm; and change the thickness range
of the hot-rolled pickled products to 1.0mm��12.7mm;
--- Add a NOTE specifying the minimum yield strength;
--- Change the allowable value of tower shape for finished EM steel strip in Table 12.

1 Scope
This Document specifies dimension, shape, weight and tolerances for continuously hot-rolled
steel sheet and strip.
This Document applies to hot-rolled steel strips produced by Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.,
as well as steel sheets transversely cut from steel strips and longitudinally cut steel strips,
hereinafter referred to as steel sheets and steel strips.
2 Normative References
The provisions in following documents become the essential provisions of this Document
through reference in this Document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates
indicated are applicable to this Document; for the undated documents, only the latest version
(including all the amendments) is applicable to this Document.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 709 apply.
4 Classification and Code
4.1 It can be classified as follows according to the edge state.
4.2 It can be classified as follows according to the thickness precision.
4.3 For the edge-milling steel sheets and strips, which can be classified as follows
according to the width precision.
4.4 For steel sheets, which can be classified according to the unevenness precision.
4.5 It can be classified as follows according to the surface treatment method.
4.6 It can be classified as follows according to the product category.
5 Dimensions
5.1 The nominal size ranges of steel sheets and strips are listed in Table 1.
5.2 Normally, the recommended nominal width of slit steel strip is any size in multiples of
20mm within the range listed in Table 1.
5.3 Normally, the recommended nominal width of steel sheets and strips (excluding slit steel
strips) is any size in multiples of 10mm within the range listed in Table 1.
5.4 Normally, the recommended nominal length of the steel sheet is any size in multiples of
100mm within the range listed in Table 1.
5.5 Normally, the recommended nominal thickness of steel sheets and strips is any size in
multiples of 0.1mm within the range listed in Table 1.
5.6 According to the requirements of the purchaser and through negotiation between the
supplier and the purchaser, steel sheets and strips of other sizes than the recommended nominal
sizes can also be supplied.
6 Tolerance of Size
6.1 For uncut head and tail steel strips, when checking the size, the total length L without both
ends assessment is.
6.2 Thickness precision
6.2.1 It is specified that the normal precision and higher precision thickness tolerances of steel
sheets and strips with the minimum yield strength Re< 360MPa shall comply with the provisions

6.2.2 If the purchaser has higher requirements for thickness precision, it can be ordered
according to the advanced precision given in Table 4 after negotiation between the supplier and
the purchaser and as stipulated in the contract.
6.2.3 When the thickness precision is not specified in the product standard or contract, the
product shall be supplied by ordinary thickness precision. According to the requirements of the
purchaser, the asymmetric thickness tolerance can be specified after negotiation and agreement
between the supplier and the purchaser and it is specified in the contract, but the tolerance zone
remains unchanged.
6.3 The width tolerance of steel sheets and strips shall comply with the provisions of Table 5;
and the width tolerance of slit steel strips shall comply with the provisions of Table 6.When
the width precision is not specified in the product standard or contract, the product shall be
supplied with ordinary width precision.
6.4 The length tolerance of the steel sheet shall comply with the provisions of Table 7.
7 Shape
7.1 Unevenness
7.1.1 The allowable unevenness value of the steel sheet shall comply with the provisions of
Table 8.When the unevenness precision is not specified in the product standards and contracts,
the product shall be supplied based on the ordinary unevenness precision.
7.2 Cambering and out-of-squareness (beveling)
7.2.1 For the steel strip without cutting the head and tail and with EM state, when checking the
cambering, the total length L of the two ends that is not checked is.
7.2.2 The cambering and beveling of the steel sheet shall ensure the rectangular shape of the
ordered size of the steel sheet.
7.2.3 The allowable cambering values of steel sheets and strips shall comply with the
corresponding provisions in Tables 10 and 11.
7.3 Tower shape
Steel strips and slit steel strips shall be tightly bundled; and the allowable value of the tower
shape on one side of the steel coil shall comply with the provisions of Table 12.
7.4 Inner diameter of steel coil
The inner diameter tolerance of the steel coil shall comply with the provisions of Table 13.
8 Measurement of Size and Shape
8.1 Thickness
For EC steel sheets and strips, the thickness shall be measured at a distance of no less than
25mm from the longitudinal edge. For EM steel sheets and strips, the thickness shall be
measured at a distance of no less than 40mm from the longitudinal edge.
8.2 Width
Width shall be measured perpendicular to the centerline of the steel sheets or strips.
8.3 Unevenness
8.3.1 Unevenness of steel sheet
Place the steel sheet freely on the platform, without applying any pressure except the weight of
the steel sheet itself, and measure the maximum distance between the lower surface of the steel
sheet and the plane, as shown in Figure 1.
8.4 Cambering
The maximum distance between the concave side of the steel sheet or strip and the straight line
connecting the two end points of the measuring part, as shown in Figure 2.
8.5 Out-of-squareness degree (beveling)
The vertical projection of the transverse edge of the steel sheet on the longitudinal edge (as
shown in Figure 3); or one-half the difference between the diagonals of the steel sheet.
9 Weight
9.1 Steel sheets are delivered according to theoretical or actual weight; and steel strips are
delivered according to actual weight.
9.2 When the steel plate is delivered according to the theoretical weight, the thickness used in
the theoretical weight calculation is the average of the allowable maximum thickness and the
allowable minimum thickness; and the width and length adopt the nominal size values.
9.3 The weight of different categories of products shall comply with the provisions of Table 14.
10 Numerical Rounding Rules
The numerical judgment adopts the rounding value comparison method, and the numerical
rounding shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 8170.
