1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements, instructions for use, inspection rules, as well
as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of baby carriers, and describes the
corresponding inspection methods.
This document applies to carriers used by babies who have a certain degree of head
support and can be attached vertically to an adult's torso (ages 4 ~ 36 months).

The following documents are referred to in the text in such a way that some or all of
their content constitutes requirements of this document. For dated references, only the
version corresponding to that date is applicable to this document; for undated references,
the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
Terms and definitions determined by GB/T 15557 and the following ones are applicable
to this document.
3.1 baby carriers
Products made of textiles and/or other accessories, worn on the torso of an adult, and
used to fix a baby aged 4 ~ 36 months. Common types are shown in Figure 1.
3.2 leg opening
An opening on the baby carrier (3.1) through which the baby's legs can pass and stretch.
3.3 integral leg opening
The leg opening (3.2) formed independently of the carrier.
3.4 unbounded leg opening
The leg opening (3.2) formed jointly by the wearer's torso and the baby carrier.

4 Requirements
4.1 Appearance
Appearance requirements shall comply with the requirements in Table 1.

4.2 Physical and chemical properties
4.2.1 Textile fabrics
The textile fabrics used for baby carriers shall comply with the requirements of GB
31701 and the requirements of Table 2.
4.2.2 Filling
The filling materials used in carriers shall comply with the requirements of GB 31701.
4.2.3 Accessories
The accessories used in carriers shall comply with the provisions of GB 31701 and shall
comply with the provisions of Table 3.
4.3 Structure
4.3.1 Integral leg opening
Test integral leg opening according to 5.3.1, and the test ball shall not pass through the
leg opening of the carrier.
4.3.2 Unbounded leg opening
Test unbounded leg opening according to 5.3.2, and the circular truncated cone for
testing shall not pass through the unbounded leg opening of the carrier.
4.3.3 Sharp edges and points
The carrier shall not have sharp edges or points and shall comply with the product
requirements for babies aged 36 months and below as specified in 4.6 and 4.7 of GB
6675.2-2014.
4.3.4 Small parts
Removable parts of the carrier, and any parts that may be grasped by the thumb and
index finger or bitten by the teeth of the baby, shall not be fully loaded into the small
parts tester shown in Figure 2 when tested according to 5.3.4 small parts.
4.3.5 Fastener and carrier retention
After the test of 5.3.5, the fasteners and carriers shall not break or separate, and the
sliding displacement shall not exceed 25 mm.
4.4 Overall combustion performance of the carrier
Test the overall combustion performance of the carrier in accordance with 5.4, and the
flame spread rate shall be less than or equal to 30 mm/s. When the flame spread rate is
less than 10 mm/s, it means that the carrier can be used normally; when the flame spread
rate is between 10 mm/s ~ 30 mm/s, a warning shall be set on the carrier or its packaging,
"Warning. Do not approach fire"; when the flame spread rate is greater than 30 mm/s,
the combustion performance of the carrier is unqualified and it is prohibited to use.
4.5 Rope belt
4.5.1 The free end length of ropes, straps and similar components shall not exceed 220
mm, see Figure 3 a) and b).
4.5.2 If ropes, straps and similar components are connected together at the same
position on the product or the interval shall not exceed 80 mm, the free end length of
any rope shall not exceed 220 mm, and the length from one free end to the other free
end shall not exceed 360 mm; see Figure 3 c).
4.5.3 Where ropes, straps and similar components are likely to form loops, their
circumference shall not exceed 360 mm.
4.5.4 The requirements of 4.5.1 ~ 4.5.3 do not apply if the width of ropes, straps and
similar components is not less than 19 mm.
4.6 Needle detection
Carriers must undergo a needle inspection process before leaving the factory. No sharp
objects such as metal needles shall remain on the carrier products; no metal needles or
other sharp objects shall be used in the packaging of carrier products.
5 Test methods
5.1 Appearance quality
Inspect visually, where lighting should be used and the illumination should not be less
than 600 lx; northern skylight can also be used if conditions permit.
5.2 Physical and chemical properties
5.2.1 Textile fabrics
5.2.1.1 The formaldehyde content, pH, odor, degradable carcinogenic aromatic amine
dyes and color fastness of textile fabrics on the carriers shall be tested in accordance
with the provisions of GB/T 21294.
5.2.1.2 For textile fabrics on the carriers, the total lead and total cadmium content in
heavy metals shall be tested in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 30157, the
extractable heavy metal content shall be tested in accordance with the provisions of
GB/T 17593 (all parts), and the phthalate content shall be tested in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 20388.
5.2.2 Filling
The filling test shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB 31701.
5.2.3 Accessories
5.2.3.1 The plastic buckles on the carriers shall be tested according to the method of
QB/T 5247-2018 for 1 000 times; other types of buckles and other accessories shall be
manually opened and closed once and tested 200 times, respectively.
5.3 Structure
5.3.1 Integral leg opening
After fixing the carrier, make the leg opening in a horizontal position during the test. If
the leg opening size is adjustable, adjust it to the minimum according to the carrier
instructions.
5.3.2 Unbounded leg opening
According to the instruction manual of the carrier, fix it in front of the test torso 1 (see
Figure 4). If the leg opening size is adjustable, the leg opening shall be adjusted to the
minimum according to the instructions of the carrier.
5.3.3 Sharp edges and points
Test sharp edges in accordance with the provisions of 5.8 of GB 6675.2-2014, and test
sharp points in accordance with the provisions of 5.9 of GB 6675.2-2014.
5.3.4 Small parts
5.3.4.1 General
Any parts on the carrier that may be grabbed by the thumb and index finger or bitten
by the teeth of the baby are subjected to torque and tension tests. Place the parts that
fall off after the test and the detachable parts of the carrier in the small parts tester in
any direction without external pressure.
5.3.7 Dynamic loading
Perform a dynamic load test on the baby carrier as follows.
5.3.8 Overall bearing strength of the product
Place a 30 kg load evenly at the center of the carrier for 5 minutes, then remove the load
and check the overall condition of the product's seams, fasteners, and straps.
5.4 Overall combustion performance of the carrier
The steps for conducting a flammability test on baby carriers are as follows.

5.5 Rope belt
Measure the length of cords, straps and similar parts from the point of attachment to the
carrier to the free end when tested with an applied force of 25 N.
5.6 Needle detection
The detection of remains of broken sewing needle on the carrier shall be tested in
accordance with the provisions of GB/T 24121, using the detection sensitivity (standard
iron ball test card). 1.0 mm.
6 Instructions for use
6.1 Basic content
The following contents shall be marked on the carrier product, packaging, label or
instruction manual.
6.2 Warnings
6.2.1 General
A similar reminder shall be marked on each carrier product, packaging, label or
instruction manual. Please read this carrier manual carefully before use. Failure to use
it according to the instructions may endanger the safety of the baby.
6.2.2 Warning
A similar message shall be marked on each carrier product, packaging, label or
instruction manual.
The instructions for use shall include at least the following.
7 Test rules
7.1 Batch
The products of the same variety and specification produced with the same raw
materials and using the same production process are set as one inspection batch.
7.2 Sampling regulations
7.2.1 Samples for appearance quality inspection shall be randomly selected from
batches, and the sampling quantity shall be as specified in Table 4.
7.2.2 The number of samples for other performance tests shall be at least 2.
7.3 Determination rules
7.3.1 Single piece (sample) determination
If there are no more than 3 defects in the appearance quality, the product is considered
qualified. If a product has defects that affect its function, the product is considered
unqualified.
7.3.2 Batch determination
If the number of qualified products in the appearance inspection sample is ≥90%, the
number of unqualified products is ≤10%, and all other performance indicators are
qualified, judge the inspection batch to be qualified. Otherwise, judge the batch of
products as unqualified.
7.3.3 Re-inspection requirements
If the number of batches determined during random inspection does not comply with
the provisions of this document or the two parties to the delivery have objections to the
inspection results, a second random inspection may be conducted and the number of
random inspections shall be doubled. The retest result shall be the final judgment result.
8 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage
The marking, packaging, transportation and storage of finished products shall comply
with FZ/T 80002.At the same time, the packaging bag shall be marked with warning
instructions similar to the following.
Warning. To avoid suffocation hazard, keep plastic coverings away from the baby.
