Foreword
This revised standard adopts the International Standard ISO 3130. 1975 "Determination of physical and mechanical tests of moisture content."
This standard and ISO 3130. 1975 main technical differences compared to.
--- The moisture content of a sample size of 20mm × 20mm × 25mm amended as 20mm × 20mm × 20mm.
This standard replaces GB/T 1931-1991 "Method for determination of moisture content of wood."
This standard compared with GB/T 1931-1991, the main changes are as follows.
--- Modify the drying process, the values of the last two samples weighing the difference will not exceed 0.002g to not exceed the quality of the sample
0.5%;
--- Appendix A and Appendix B of some description has been amended accordingly.
The Standard Annexes A and B are normative appendix.
This standard was proposed by the State Forestry Administration.

Methods for determination of moisture content of wood
1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination of wood moisture content test equipment, samples, test procedures and results of calculations.
This standard applies to the determination of the physical and mechanical tests when the moisture content.
Principle 2
The sample timber quality than the quality of the water and completely dry the sample contains moisture content in the sample represents.
3 Test Equipment
3.1 Balance precision should reach 0.001g.
3.2 oven should be able to maintain at (103 ± 2) ℃.
3.3 weighing bottle and glass dryer.
4 Sample
4.1 Determination of the sample usually need moisture test material on the test strip, or on the sample after the physical and mechanical tests, in accordance with the corresponding standard test
Act interception sites. Sample size was about 20mm × 20mm × 20mm.
Wood, 4.2 pieces attached on the sample should be removed.
5 test procedure
5.1 to take samples should be numbered, weighed as soon as possible, and to populate the records in the table in Appendix A, accurate to 0.001g.
5.2 The moisture content of the test samples of the same batch made, together into an oven at a temperature of (103 ± 2) ℃ for 8h after drying, selected from
2 ~ 3 samples once again that after weighing the selected sample once every 2h to the difference between the last two weighing not more than the quality of the sample
At 0.5%, that is, that the sample was at all dry.
5.3 tweezers with dry specimens removed from the oven, put the weighing bottle containing glass desiccant dryer within the weighing bottle and cover
Dryer cover.
After the sample was cooled to room temperature and 5.4, with a dry flask forceps claiming to remove weighing.
5.5 As for the sample contains more volatile substances (resins, gums, etc.) of the timber, in order to avoid using the drying method for the determination of the moisture content of an excessive
Error, should be measured (see Appendix B) to switch to vacuum drying.
6 calculated results
The moisture content of the sample according to equation (1) calculated to the nearest 0.1%.
100 (1)
