This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents"
drafted.
This document replaces GB/T 13833-2002 "Flax stems for fiber" and GB/T 13834-2008 "Flax stems for fiber",
Compared with GB/T 13833-2002 and GB/T 13834-2008, in addition to structural adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Changed the content of "Scope" (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of GB/T 13833-2002, GB/T 13834-2008);
b) Changed the content of "Terms and Definitions", added "Flax raw stem", deleted "Flax growth rate", rearranged the order (see Chapter 3,
GB/T 13833-2002, Chapter 3 of GB/T 13834-2008);
c) Changed the name, content and order of "requirements"; deleted the "standard color rate" index requirement of the fifth grade for flax primary stems, and changed the "resurrection"
"Rate" and "sloppy"; the dry stems of flax rain and dew have been revised to the first-class "fineness", the technical index of "general hemp rate" has been improved, and the "long hemp rate" has been deleted.

1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, sampling, test methods, inspection rules, physical standards of flax raw stems and dry stems for fiber
standardization, transportation and storage.
This document applies to raw flax stems and dew stems for fiber use.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
flax primary stem flaxstalk
Flax that has been air-dried and threshed after harvest.
NOTE. Include flax stems and taproots.
3.2
dew-rettingflaxstalk
After harvesting, the flax is retted by rain and dew, and then air-dried.
NOTE. Include flax stems and taproots.
3.3
normal stem normalflaxstalk
Flax stems that are sown and harvested at the right time.
3.4
abnormalflaxstalk
Unsuitable planting, harvesting, and flax primary stems with bast or xylem damaged due to natural disasters or improper agricultural techniques.

Insufficient degumming and dry flax stems that do not meet the technical requirements of rain retting.
