GB/T 20863 “Cranes - Classification” is divided into 5 parts: -- Part 1: General; -- Part 2: Mobile cranes; -- Part 3: Tower cranes; -- Part 4: Jib cranes; -- Part 5: Overhead travelling and portal bridge cranes. This Part is Part 5 of GB/T 20863. This Part is equivalent to ISO 4301-5:1991 "Cranes - Classification - Part 5: Overhead travelling and portal bridge cranes" (English version). This Part is equivalent to the translation of ISO 4301-5:1991. For convenience of use, this Part makes the following editorial changes: -- Change the term "this Part of ISO 4301" to "this Part of GB/T 20863"; -- Delete the foreword of ISO 4301-5:1991; -- For ISO 4301-1: 1986, which is cited in ISO 4301-5:1991, express as a national standard that has been equivalently transformed into our country. This Part was proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation. This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 227 on Hoisting Machinery of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 227). This Part of GB/T 20863 specifies the classification of overhead travelling and portal bridge cranes according to the number of work cycles that are completed by the crane and its mechanism during the expected life and the load spectrum coefficient representing the nominal load state.2 Normative references

The whole crane and its mechanism shall be classified according to GB/T 20863.1. The general principles of the classification of overhead travelling and portal bridge cranes according to the conditions of use are shown in Table 1.
