For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 3207 and the following apply. 3.1 Spring steels Steels that possess elastic properties and used for manufacturing springs or elastic elements. NOTE. The elasticity of steel depends on its ability to undergo elastic deformation, that is, within a specified range, its ability to undergo elastic deformation allows it to withstand a certain load without permanent deformation after the load is removed.4 Ordering Contents
Contracts or orders placed in accordance with this Document should include the following information. a) This Document number; b) Product name; c) Designation or Uniform Numerical Code; d) Dimensions and precision; e) Weight (or quantity); f) Delivery condition or code; g) Mechanical properties (tempering temperature of 60Si2Mn); h) Hardenability; i) Low magnification grouping; j) Grouping of non-metallic inclusions; k) Decarburized layer (grouping of hot-rolled materials); l) Application (e.g., for automotive suspension systems); m) Special requirements.5 Manufacturing Process
5.1 Smelting method Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the smelting method shall be selected by the supplier. 5.2 Delivery condition Steel shall be delivered according to the pressure processing methods, heat treatment methods, and surface roughness listed in Table 1.The specific delivery condition (or code) shall be specified in the contract. EXAMPLE. Hot-rolled stress-relieved annealed spring steel (code. WHR+A); hot-rolled softened annealed spring steel with a surface roughness of Grade 1 (code. WHR+SA+FB).6 Technical Requirements
6.1 Designation and chemical composition 6.1.1 The designation, unified numerical code, and chemical composition (smelting analysis) of the steel shall conform to the provisions of Table 2.Other designations of spring steel may also be supplied upon negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser and specified in the contract.
