This Standard serves as a replacement of YS/T 261-1994 Spodumene Concentrate. In comparison with YS/T 261-1994, there are several main changes as follows. ---The grade and chemical composition of spodumene concentrate are adjusted; ---The requirements for granularity of spodumene concentrate are adjusted. This Standard was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 243 on Nonferrous Metals of Standardization Administration of China. The drafting organization of this Standard. Sichuan Tianqi Lithium Co., Ltd. The main drafters of this Standard. Yao Kailin, Jinpeng, Huo Liming, Xu Mingjiang, Zeng Yiwei, Liang Pingwei. The release of the previous versions of the standard replaced by this Standard is as follows. ---YS/T 261-1994. Spodumene Concentrate1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificate and contract (or order form) content of spodumene concentrate. This Standard is applicable to spodumene concentrate, which is obtained through various mineral processing methods and enrichment. The spodumene concentrate has been extensively applied to the glass and ceramic industry, and the production of various chemical products of lithium.2 Normative References

3.1 Product Classification In accordance with the scope of application and chemical composition, products shall be classified into six grades. 3.2 Chemical Composition Products’ chemical composition shall comply with the stipulations in Table 1.4 Test Methods
4.1 The method of chemical composition analysis of the product shall comply with the stipulations in YS/T 509.1, YS/T 509.5, YS/T 509.6, YS/T 509.8 and YS/T 509.10. 4.2 The method of granularity test shall be negotiated and determined by the demand- side and the supply-side. 4.4 Product’s appearance quality shall be inspected through visual observation.5 Inspection Rules
5.1 Inspection and Acceptance Inspection 5.1.1 Products shall be inspected by the supply-side’s quality inspection department, which shall guarantee that product quality complies with the stipulations in this Standard and the contract (or order form). In addition, a quality certificate shall be filled out. 5.2 Group Batch Products shall be submitted for acceptance inspection in batches. Each batch shall be constituted of the same grade of products. The weight of each batch of products for chemical purpose shall not exceed 3,000 t. The weight of each batch of products for other purposes shall not exceed 60 t. 5.3 Inspection Items Inspection items and sampling size of each batch of products shall comply with the stipulations in Table 2. 5.4.1 Adopt intubation method (plastic tube or stainless-steel tube) to evenly take samples from each batch of products. 5.5 Determination of Inspection Result 5.5.1 When the result of chemical composition analysis is disqualified, it is allowed to re-take samples (or double the samples) to conduct re-inspection of the disqualified items. If the samples still fail in one of the items in the re-inspection result, then, this batch of products shall be determined as disqualified. 5.5.2 When the samples are disqualified in granularity inspection, then, this batch of products shall be determined as disqualified.6 Packaging, Marking, Transportation, Storage and Quality Certificate
6.1 Packaging, Transportation and Storage Products may be packed in sacks or bulk. The specific mode of packaging shall be determined in accordance with the demand-side’s demands. During the transportation and storage, products shall be protected from the rain. 6.2 Marking 6.2.2 If products are shipped in bulk, in accordance with the content described in 6.2.1, fill out the form, then, submit it to the demand-side. 6.3 Quality Certificate Each batch of products shall be attached with a quality certificate, which shall indicate.7 Contract (or order form) Content
