This Standard specifies the type and class dividing for commercial motor-vehicles of passenger transport as well the contents, rules and requirements for class rating. This Standard applies to the class rating of buses of classes B and III of categories B and III and passenger cars for commercial road passenger transport.2 Normative references

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 commercial motor-vehicles of passenger transport motor-vehicles which are used for commercial road passenger transport, including buses and passenger cars 3.2 passenger space space which is used for passengers and crew, including driver zone and passenger zone4 Type dividing
4.1 Commercial motor-vehicles of passenger transport includes two types, i.e. buses and passenger cars. 4.3 Passenger cars are not divided into types.5 Class rating

6.1 The main contents of bus rating include. bus structure, chassis, configuration, active safety, dynamic performance, inside noise, air conditioning and control, etc.7 Class rating rules
7.1 Necessary conditions All rating indexes specified in Clause 8 are necessary conditions. 7.2 Class rating for brand new commercial motor-vehicles of passenger transport Brand new commercial motor-vehicles of passenger transport refer to new products developed by manufacturing enterprises or commercial motor-vehicles of passenger transport which are imported from abroad; class rating is carried out as specified in Clause 8, in accordance with the technical documents (import inspection documents) supplied by the manufacturer and real vehicle testing results. 7.3 Class rating for in-use commercial motor-vehicles of passenger transport 7.3.4 Passenger cars shall be as required in GB 7258. 7.3.5 For in-use buses whose class have been rated, their class shall be re-rated in a transfer.8 Class rating requirements
8.1 General requirements for bus class rating 8.1.1 Fuel consumption shall be as specified in JT/T 711. 8.1.6 Buses shall be marked with number of seats provided for passengers (including the driver) by them, at a plainly visible position outside vehicle body near passenger doors, using Chinese characters or Arabic numerals having a length greater than or equal to 100 mm. 8.1.7 Inside air quality of buses shall be as specified in GB/T 17729. 8.1.8 Air cleaners shall have the functions of sterilization and elimination of harmful gases. 8.1.9 Rain proof performance shall be as specified in QC/T 476. 8.1.10 The second or third axle of extra-large buses shall have follow-up steering mechanisms. 8.1.15 Buses (not including hydrogen fuel battery buses) with a length greater than 9 m shall be equipped with at least 2 escape hatches; buses with a length greater than 7 m but less than or equal to 9 m, shall be equipped with at least one escape hatch. Open-type escape hatches shall be as required by GB/T 23334. 8.1.16 The installation of special equipment of liquefied petroleum gas and compressed natural gas buses shall be as specified in GB 19239; the installation of special equipment of liquefied natural gas vehicles shall be as specified in GB/T 20734. 8.1.17 Flame resistance of interior materials for buses shall be as specified in JT/T 1095. 8.1.18 If an eddy current retarder is installed, its installation location shall be equipped with a temperature alarm system or automatic fire extinguisher. 8.1.19 Buses shall be provided with at least two parking wedges (e.g. triangular wood trigs). 8.1.27 Equipping of fire extinguishers on buses shall be as specified in GB 34655. 8.1.28 Fire extinguishing apparatus shall be equipped in power battery box of battery electric buses and hybrid electric buses, which have an alarm function. 8.1.29 Use the pure electric test conditions of the 40 km/h uniform velocity method for hybrid electric buses, and the driving range shall not be less than 200 km. 8.1.30 The ratio of the total mass to the complete vehicle kerb mass of power battery system of battery electric buses shall not be greater than 20%. 8.1.31 Buses shall not be equipped with roof racks on the top. 8.2 Necessary conditions for bus class rating 8.2.1 Necessary conditions for seater bus rating For the necessary conditions for bus class rating see Table 3; inside noise shall comply with relevant provisions on the running noise limits inside vehicle at a uniform velocity and measurement method. 8.2.2 Necessary conditions for sleeper bus class rating 8.2.2.1 Sleeper bus class rating, except seats, luggage space volume, inside luggage rack, etc., shall be as specified in 8.2.1.Dimensions of sleepers are measured as specified in GB/T 16887 and shall be as specified in Table 4. 8.2.2.6 The surface of metallic parts of sleeper buses such as supporting bars, ladders and guardrail, shall be covered by soft materials. 8.2.2.7 The air-conditioning air flow between upper and lower berths of sleeper buses of high and medium classes shall be distributed uniformly and the per capita ventilation volume shall be greater than 30% of that of seater buses of equivalent classes.
