Matte chemical analysis Part 9. Determination of iron content Dichromate method

1 Scope

This section YS/T 990 specifies the method for determination of copper matte iron content. This section applies to the determination of copper in ice iron content was measured in the range of 10.0% ~ 48.0%.

2 Method summary

Samples with hydrochloric acid, nitric acid decomposition of sulfur mixed with ammonia precipitation of iron, so that separation of copper and the substrate, in hydrochloric acid medium, large reduction with stannous chloride Part of the iron, leaving a small amount of sodium tungstate as an indicator of iron, titanium trichloride reduction, parathion mixed acid was added to diphenylamine 4-sulfonate as indicator Titration with potassium dichromate standard titration solution.

3 Reagents

Unless otherwise indicated in the analysis using only recognized as analytical grade reagents and distilled or deionized water or equivalent purity. 3.1 ammonium chloride. 3.2 hydrochloric acid (ρ = 1.19g/mL). 3.3 hydrochloride (11). 3.4 hydrochloride (15). 3.5 hydrochloric acid (595). 3.6 nitric acid (ρ = 1.42g/mL). 3.7 sulfate (ρ = 1.84g/mL). 3.8 phosphoric acid (ρ = 1.69g/mL). 3.9 sulfur nitrate mixed acid (73). A 30mL sulfuric acid (3.7) with constant stirring slowly inject 70mL of nitric acid (3.6), cooled to room temperature. 3.10 parathion mixed acid. A 150mL sulfuric acid (3.7) with constant stirring slowly into 700mL of water, cooled to room temperature, 150mL P Acid (3.8), mix, cool to room temperature. 3.11 aqueous ammonia (ρ = 0.88g/mL). 3.12 ammonia - ammonium chloride solution. 2mL ammonia diluted with water (3.11) to 100mL, plus 2g of ammonium chloride (3.1) and shake. 3.13 stannous chloride solution (60g/L). Weigh 6g stannous chloride dissolved in 20mL hot hydrochloric acid (3.2), diluted with water to 100mL, Mix well. 3.14 titanium trichloride solution (114). Pipette solution of titanium trichloride 2mL 15% to 20% (mass concentration), diluted with hydrochloric acid (3.4) to 30mL, mix well. The time is now equipped with. 3.15 copper sulphate solution (5g/L). Weigh 0.78g of copper sulfate pentahydrate dissolved in 100mL of water, and mix. 3.16 sodium tungstate solution (250g/L). Weigh 25g of sodium tungstate dissolved in an appropriate amount of water, was added 5mL phosphate (3.8), diluted with water to 100mL, and mix. 3.17 potassium dichromate standard titration solution [c (1/6K2Cr2O7 = 0.0500mol/L)]. Weigh 2.4517g baseline potassium dichromate (previously At 150 ℃ baking 1h), placed in 250mL beaker, add a small amount of water to dissolve moved 1000mL volumetric flask, diluted with water to the mark, Mix well.
