Summary
This standard specifies three types of workers: communication radio frequency (RF) workers (RF electromagnetic field exposure is inherent in the nature of their work), informed workers (who have been provided with information on RF-EMF on-site safety operating specifications), and all other workers who should be regarded as members of the public (for the purpose of RF electromagnetic field exposure limitation). This standard mainly provides occupational protection technical guidelines for the first two types of workers (such as communication facility installation and operation and maintenance personnel) under occupational exposure conditions. This standard is applicable to communication facility operation and maintenance personnel when working near radio frequency electromagnetic fields (such as wireless communication base stations, microwave stations, etc.), providing them with correct safety protection specifications; and providing practical protection procedures for network operation and maintenance personnel who may need to work close to radio frequency emission sources (such as transmitting antennas).
