constructional quality acceptance of railway subgrade engineering" (TB 10414-2003),
"Standard for constructional quality acceptance of railway bridge and culvert engineering"
(TB 10415-2003), "Standard for constructional quality acceptance of railway tunnel
engineering" (TB 10417-2003), "Standard for constructional quality acceptance of railway
transportation communication engineering" (TB 10418-2003), "Standard for constructional

Foreword
On the base of "Standard for Quality Inspection and Assessment of Railway Subgrade
Engineering" (TB 10414-98), this is revised in accordance with the requirements of
"announcement on printing and distributing 2001 scheduling on railway construction codes,
ration and standard designs" (Tie Jian She Han [2001] No.72).
In the development procedure of this standard, the drafting group strictly follows the
guiding ideology "status regulating, teat and evaluation separating, content enriching,
procedure running strictly, test strengthening and responsibility definite", carries out deeply
investigation and study, sums up the practical experiences in constructional quality control of
railway subgrade engineering in China, and widely solicit the advice from the parties
concerned. In this standard, the drafting group proposes construction requirements, quality
control measures, acceptance methods, acceptance procedure and quality criteria, addresses
the responsibilities of all construction parties in constructional quality control and strictly
specifies the procedure and methods of site acceptance and constructional quality test of
materials. the new standard shows great scientificity and operability, and highlights the
control of the acceptance standard on the constructional quality of railway subgrade
engineering.
This standard shall be applied in combination with "Standard for constructional quality
acceptance of railway concrete and masonry engineering" (TB 10424-2003).
This standard consists of 7 annexes and 21 chapters including general provisions, terms,
general provisions, subgrade treatment, road embankment under subgrade bed, subgrade bed,
cutting, gravity retaining wall, short-landed retaining wall with relieving plate, cantilever and
buttressed retaining wall, anchor bar retaining wall, anchor plate retaining wall, reinforced
earth retaining wall, soil nailing wall, anti-slide pile, pile-board retaining wall, prestressed
tendon, subgrade shielding, subgrade drainage, appurtenant works of subgrade, evaluation on
appearance quality of unit subgrade construction.
The revision hereof involves.
1. Revise the application scope of the standard, and raise the design running speed of
passenger train from 140km/h to 160km/h.
2. Improve the method, procedure and quality criteria of constructional quality acceptance
of engineering, and cancel grade estimation.
3. Supplement and improve the content and method of subgrade treatment acceptance.
4. Stress the content and method of constructional quality acceptance of underlayer and
surface layer of subgrade bed, conducted through double indices control, and make the
requirements in the cutting constructional quality control.
5. Increase inspection method and content of transitionary section between embankment
and abutment.
6. Add the acceptance content of borrow pit and spoil ground (mound).
7. Do coordination between the inspection content of subgrade supporting / blocking and
the provisions in the current standard "Code for design on retaining engineering structures of
railway subgrade" (TB 10025) and supplement the related acceptance content.
The provision printed in bold type are compulsory ones and must be enforced strictly.

experiences in actual practices during the process of implementing this standard. The relevant
opinions and advice, whenever necessary, can be posted or passed on to Provision Revision
