For ease of use, this section has made the following editorial changes.
a) The word 'this International Standard' is changed to 'this part';
b) use a decimal point '. 'Replace comma as a decimal point', ';
c) remove the preamble to international standards;
d) In order to be more in line with Chinese customs, the name of this section has been slightly modified.

Method for detecting food and animal feed E. coli O157
Immunomagnetic beads
Warning. E. coli O157 is a serious life-threatening condition and can cause infection at very low doses.
Pathogenic bacteria. There have been reports of infections in laboratories.

1 Scope
This part of SN/T 1059 specifies the immunomagnetic beads method for the detection of E. coli O157.
This section applies to foods consumed by humans or products used as animal feed.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this part of SN/T 1059.
3.1
E. coli O157
Typical colonies formed on the surface of the plate medium used in this section, which produced sputum and specifically condensed with O157 antiserum

Note 2. Some sputum-negative mutants have been found.
4 Principle
The detection of E. coli O157 should have the following four consecutive steps (see Appendix A).
a) Enrichment. Test some samples at 41.5 °C ± 1 °C with modified tryptone soy broth (mTSB+N) containing novobiocin
The sample was incubated for 6 h in homogenization, and then cultured for another 12 h to 18 h for enrichment.
Isolation and culture were carried out on O157 selective separation medium.
Note. Further identification of the pathogenic characteristics of positive isolates can be sent to the relevant reference laboratory.
