3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Access roadway
At the end of the mining tunnel, the air intake tunnel and the return air tunnel are connected to form a connecting tunnel with full wind pressure ventilation on the working face.
Note. This is similar to the cutting of conventional fully mechanized mining face, except that no fully mechanized mining equipment is arranged in the connecting tunnel of the drift.
3.2
After the working face forms full wind pressure ventilation, the working face is divided into several groups parallel to the connecting tunnel of the drift, and each group is divided into several short wall strips.
The coal is extracted one by one at a certain width using mining equipment and the goaf is filled.
Note. The mining strip is required to form full wind pressure ventilation first, and then expand the side and pull the bottom to mine.
3.3
Short wall strip shortwalstrip
The coal mining face is divided into several narrow strips parallel to the connecting tunnels of the drift.
3.4
Half height support
When mining short wall strips, if the mining equipment cannot mine the full height at one time and the short wall strips need to be mined in layers, the coal seams on both sides are not supported.
In this case, it cannot achieve self-stability and needs to be supported from the two shoulder angles of the short wall strip downward to a certain range.
