3 Terminology and units of measurement

3.1 Longwave radiation longwaveradiation Electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength between 3 μm and 100 μm. The ratio of the electrical signal output by the pyranometer to the net long-wave irradiance, in microvolts per square meter per watt (μV·m2·W-1).

The pyranometer is an instrument used to measure atmospheric long-wave radiation and earth long-wave radiation.
