Iron, manganese, nickel, potassium, sodium, marine sediments and organisms
Determination of calcium and magnesium-Atomic absorption spectrophotometry
1 Scope
This standard specifies the use of atomic absorption spectrophotometry for the determination of iron, manganese, nickel, potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium in marine sediments and organisms.
Digestion, analysis and measurement and data processing methods.
This standard is applicable to the determination of iron, manganese, nickel, potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium in sediments and organisms in oceans, offshore, estuaries, harbors, etc.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated reference documents, only the dated version applies to this article
Pieces. For undated references, the latest version (including all revised versions) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
3.1
Steam to dryness
The solvent evaporates to a small volume (0.2mL~0.3mL), leaving a residue in a wet state.
[GB 17378.6-2007, definition 3.1]
4 Principle
Marine sediment samples are digested by electric heating plate with nitric acid, perchloric acid and hydrofluoric acid or microwave digestion with mixed acids of nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid;
The samples of foreign organisms are digested by electric heating plate or microwave by nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide, iron is at a wavelength of 248.3nm, manganese is at a wavelength of 279.5nm, nickel
At 232.0nm wavelength, potassium at 766.5nm wavelength, sodium at 589.0nm wavelength, calcium at 422.7nm wavelength, and magnesium at 285.2nm wavelength
Measured by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry; or manganese at 279.5nm wavelength, nickel at 232.0nm wavelength by flameless atomic absorption spectroscopy
Photometric determination.
5 Reagents and preparation
Unless otherwise specified, superior grade pure reagents and double distilled water or equivalent pure water are used for analysis.
5.1 Nitric acid. 1.42g/mL, distilled by a quartz sub-boiling still.
5.2 Perchloric acid. 1.67g/mL.
5.3 Hydrofluoric acid. 1.49g/mL.
5.4 Hydrochloric acid. 1.19g/mL.
