3 Element classification methods and coding principles
3.1 Classification method
This document uses hierarchical classification. According to the characteristics of the platform selected for ocean observation and the observation elements are classified step by step, the establishment of ocean observation
Feature code.
3.2 Coding principles
3.2.1 Uniqueness. The code value should correspond to the specified marine information.
3.2.2 Scalability. The code should have room to adapt to the addition of new categories and the deletion of old categories.
3.2.3 Conciseness. Under the premise of ensuring the integrity of the information, express briefly.
3.2.4 Stability. Once the code is determined, it should not be changed at will.
3.2.5 Recognition. the code should have the maximum possible meaning, and the code with more meaning can reflect the attributes and characteristics of the classification code.
3.2.6 Operability. The code should be as convenient as possible for the user's work and reduce the processing time of the machine.
4 Coding method
Code based on the observation method, platform, project, and element level. The code has a total of 6 digits, the first two digits identify the method and platform, the 3rd and the 4th
Identifies observation items, and the fifth and sixth digits identify observation elements.
5 Classification code
5.1 Classification and codes of ocean observation methods
The classification and codes of ocean observation methods are shown in Table 1.
