1 Scope

This standard specifies the conversion of carbonyl compounds into 2,4 Dinitrophenylhydrozones common with colorimetric method assay. This standard applies to the determination of trace organic reagent carbonyl compounds. Spectrophotometric or visual colorimetric detection range 0.2μg/mL ~ 1.6μg/mL (in CO meter).

3 PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD

In acidic medium, the carbonyl compound with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine reaction of 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazone, was dark red in the alkaline solution Color can be used for spectrophotometric carbonyl compounds or visual colorimetric method.
