Methods for chemical analysis of zinc concentrates
Part 14. Determination of nickel content
Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry
1 Scope
This section GB/T 8151 specifies the method for determination of nickel content in zinc concentrates.
This section applies to the determination of nickel content of zinc concentrates. Measurement range. 0.0030% to 0.050%.
2 Method summary
Samples with hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid dissolved in ammonium citrate solution, and extracted with chloroform nickel dimethylglyoxime complexes generated with the
Zinc, iron and other elements separated. In hydrochloric acid medium, atomic absorption spectrometer at a wavelength of 232.0nm, air - acetylene flame measured absorption of nickel
Luminosity.
3 Reagents
Unless otherwise indicated in the analysis using only recognized as analytical reagent and distilled or deionized water or equivalent purity.
3.1 chloroform.
3.2 hydrochloride (ρ1.19g/mL).
Nitrate 3.3 (ρ1.42g/mL).
3.4 sulfate (ρ1.84g/mL).
3.5 hydrochloride (11).
3.6 hydrochloride (120).
3.7 nitric acid (11).
3.8 Aqueous ammonia (11).
3.9 ammonium citrate solution (250g/L).
3.10 dimethylglyoxime in ethanol (10g/L).
3.11 Nickel standard stock solution. Weigh 0.5000g of nickel (wNi≥99.9%), placed in 250mL beaker, add 10mL of nitric acid
(3.7), completely dissolved by heating, cooling, transferred to 1000mL volumetric flask, dilute with water to volume, and mix. This solution containing 1mL
500μg nickel.
3.12 Nickel standard solution. Pipette 5.00mL Nickel standard stock solution (3.11) in 100mL volumetric flask, was added 5mL hydrochloric acid (3.5),
Diluted with water to volume, and mix. This solution 1mL containing 25μg nickel.
3.13 phenolphthalein ethanol solution (5g/L).
4 Instrument
Atomic absorption spectrometer, with a nickel hollow cathode lamp.
Under optimum working conditions, who can achieve the following indicators atomic absorption spectrometer can be used.
