GB/T 7424.20~GB/T 7424.24 jointly replace GB/T 7424.2-2008 "General Specification for Optical Cable Part 2.Optical Cable Basic
experiment method". This part replaces Chapter 21 to Chapter 28 in GB/T 7424.2-2008.This part and GB/T 7424.2-2008

3 Method F1.Temperature cycling
3.1 Purpose
This test is suitable for testing the optical cable with temperature cycling to determine the stability of the attenuation of the optical cable when subjected to temperature changes. This test is also available
For the evaluation of loose tube or other independent optical cable components, the specific requirements are specified in the detailed specification.
The attenuation change of the optical cable may occur with temperature changes, which is usually due to the coefficient of thermal expansion of the optical fiber and the strength of the optical cable strength member and sheath.
Different coefficients of thermal expansion are the result of bending or straining of the optical fiber. The test conditions for temperature dependence measurement should simulate the worst case.
This test is used to monitor the performance of the optical cable within the temperature range that may occur during storage, transportation and use, or at a selected temperature.
