1 Scope

This document establishes general rules and guidelines for the presentation of information in electrical technical documents and for diagrams, graphs and tables used in electrical technology. Specialized rules are provided. This document does not include rules and guidelines for producing various audio, video, or tactile presentations. This horizontal document is intended primarily for use by technical committees when preparing standards based on the rules for preparing standards in IEC Guide 108. It is the responsibility of the Technical Committee to use horizontal documents when preparing publications, unless the publication specifically states that they are not applicable or that this horizontal document is not applicable.
