Introduction

GB/T 4706 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" mostly adopts IEC 60335.On this basis, GB/T 4706 refers to The structure of IEC 60335 is divided into several parts, consisting of general requirements and special requirements. Part 1 is general requirements, and the other parts are For products covered by special requirements, their safety requirements are general requirements combined with the special requirements. The requirements include supplements and modifications to the corresponding clauses in the general requirements to provide complete requirements for each product. This document is the protection that the equipment needs to have against electrical, mechanical, thermal, fire and radiation risks when it is used normally according to the instructions. This document also covers abnormal conditions that may occur during use and considers how electromagnetic interference may affect the safe operation of the appliance. This document has taken into account the requirements specified in GB/T 16895 "Low Voltage Electrical Installations". The appliance is connected to the power supply in accordance with the electrical wiring rules. requirements are coordinated. If multiple functions of an appliance involve other parts of GB/T 4706, as long as it is reasonable, the other parts shall apply to each function of the appliance separately. If applicable, consider the impact of one function on other functions. When no additional requirements are given in other parts for hazards already included in this document, GB/T 4706.1 applies. GB/T 4706 is a standard covering appliance safety and takes precedence over general standards/horizontal standards covering the same subject. This document is used in conjunction with GB/T 4706.1-2024 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1.General Requirements". The part of the document that says "applicable" means GB/T 4706.1-2024 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1.General The corresponding clauses in the "Requirements" apply to this document; for the parts of this document marked as "replaced", the clauses in this document shall prevail; The part marked with "addition" indicates that in addition to complying with the corresponding clauses in GB/T 4706.1-2024, it is also necessary to comply with the additional clauses in this document. Added clauses; the parts of this document marked "modified" indicate modifications to the corresponding clauses in GB/T 4706.1-2024. 1 Scope

This chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following. This document specifies the safety requirements for flexible film heating elements for room heating. This document applies to single-phase flexible heating elements intended to be installed on floors, walls below 1.2 m or above 2.3 m, or ceilings. The rated voltage of the device shall not exceed 250 V, and the rated voltage of other devices shall not exceed 480 V. When installed in the building as described in the instructions and the required level of hazard protection is achieved, the film heating element becomes a heating unit. Note 101.Note the following. - For heating units intended for use in vehicles, ships or aircraft, some additional requirements may be necessary; ─ National regulatory authorities may impose additional requirements on equipment. Note 102.This document does not apply to the following situations. - Heating units for industrial purposes only; - heating units intended for use in special locations, such as where corrosive or explosive atmospheres (dust, steam or gas) are present; ─ Blankets, mats and similar flexible heating appliances (GB/T 4706.8); ─Foot warmers and heated foot pads (GB/T 4706.80); ─Electric heating carpets and electric heating devices installed under removable floor coverings for heating rooms (GB/T 4706.108); ─ Flexible heating elements installed in other appliances.
