1 Scope
This document describes a test method for determining the compressive shear strength of inorganic adhesives under elevated temperature conditions.
This document is suitable for overlapping compression between heat-resistant ceramics, composite materials and other non-metallic materials within the temperature range of 300℃~1000℃

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2943 apply to this document.
4 Principles
In dry hot air at a set temperature, a compressive load is applied axially along the length of the specimen to cause damage to the single lap joint.
The maximum compressive shear force on the joint is the compressive shear strength at that temperature. The test pieces are two parallel test pieces with inorganic adhesive applied in the middle.

Note. The shear strength values obtained from single lap adhesive joints cannot be used as the design stress for structural adhesive joints.
5 Test equipment
Test equipment should meet the following requirements.
a) The relative error of the testing machine load does not exceed ±1%;
b) When selecting the tonnage of the testing machine, refer to the instruction manual of the machine;
c) Obtain a constant test speed;
d) The testing machine is equipped with a high-temperature furnace with automatic temperature control, and the temperature control accuracy is ±2°C;
e) The testing machine is equipped with an automatically leveling high-temperature-resistant holder for compression and shear testing (as shown in Figure 1). The holder is made of high-temperature-resistant material.
