3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Plasmid
One or more closed circular double-stranded DNA molecules other than chromosomes (or nucleoids) in organisms such as bacteria, yeasts, and actinomycetes.
Note. It exists in the cytoplasm and has the ability to replicate independently, enabling it to maintain a constant copy number in the progeny cells and express the genetic information it carries.
3.2
Ribonuclease A RNaseA
A kind of 3'and 5'phosphodiester bonds of the ribose moiety that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ribonucleic acid to form oligonucleosides with 2', 3'-cyclic monophosphate derivatives
Acid nuclease.
3.3
Bacterialendotoxin
A complex composed of hydrophilic heteropolysaccharides and a covalently bound lipid A.
Note. The complex is located on the cell wall of gram-negative bacteria.
Suction distress, intravascular coagulation and endotoxin shock syndrome.
4 Abbreviations
