Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 398-2008 "cotton color yarn". Compared with GB/T 398-2008, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Adjusted the classification and marking of yarns, moved the standard quality calculation of the 100-meter yarn to Appendix B, and canceled the cotton yarn
Weigh the series of linear density and its standard weight of 100m (see Chapter 3 of the.2008 edition);
---The linear density deviation rate (original "100m weight deviation"), linear density coefficient of variation (formerly "100m weight coefficient of variation"), single yarn break
The strength has been adjusted, and the requirements for the evaluation of the kilometer cotton knot have been increased, and the appearance of the blackboard such as the uniformity of the single yarn and the horizontal line of the strand has been eliminated.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the product classification, marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, and packaging of cotton yarns.
This standard applies to ring-spun cotton natural yarn (woven yarn).
This standard does not apply to cotton yarns for special purposes.

3 Product classification, marking
3.1 The product specifications of cotton yarns are classified by different production processes and line densities.
3.2 The production process and raw material code of cotton color yarn are indicated by English letters, C is cotton (carded cotton) code, JC is combed cotton

3.3 When the cotton color yarn is marked with the code, the yarn production process code, raw material code, and online density mark should be marked before the online density.

Example 1. A linear density of 14.8 tex carded cotton yarn yarn should be written as. C14.8 texD.
Example 2. A linear density of 14.8 tex combed cotton natural 2 strands for warp yarns, which should be written as. JC14.8tex x 2TR.
Note. The inch count and the tex conversion factor of the yarn are 590.5.
