1 Scope
This standard specifies methods for testing the wicking properties of rubber or plastic coated fabrics.
This standard applies to single or double coated rubber or plastic coated fabrics.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Wicking wickingofthecloth
The movement of the liquid by the capillary action of the fibers along the walls of the coated fabric fibers.
3.2
Wicking height wickingheight
A measure of the capillary effect of a fiber reinforced layer, the height at which the liquid moves freely upward along the fiber reinforced layer over time.
3.3
Wicking speed wickingrate
The distance the liquid moves along the fiber reinforced layer per unit time at a set pressure.
4 Principle
One end of the coated fabric sample is immersed in the dyeing solution, and the fiber reinforced layer is dyed by wicking, and is dyed according to the fiber reinforced layer for a certain period of time.
The length determines the wicking properties of the coated fabric.
