1 Scope
This standard specifies the management procedures for on-board waste, including disposal, collection, classification, marking, treatment and storage; and specifies the ship-to-shore interface.
And the transportation requirements for garbage from the ship to the port receiving facility. MARPOL (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships) Annex V specifies the ship
Minimum standards for waste management.
This standard applies to the management and disposal of ship garbage during the ship. For definitions of waste in this standard, see MARPOL Annex V.
