Nondestructive testing conformal array eddy current testing guidelines
1 Scope
This standard specifies the non-destructive testing method of detecting the discontinuity of conductive materials and the material quality by the use of a conformal eddy current array sensor. As described
Discontinuities include material surface cracking, cracking, pitting and material loss near the surface of the material. The material quality includes coating thickness, conductance
Rate, permeability, surface roughness and other properties related to conductivity or permeability.
This standard applies to non-magnetic, magnetic metal materials and composites containing conductive components. Pieces to be tested with or without coating,
The surface shape can be a flat surface or a curved surface.

Pieces. For undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 12604.6 and GB/T 20737 as defined by the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
B-scan B-scan
A data display method, the abscissa represents the distance the probe moves along the surface of the test piece, the vertical axis represents the measured response of the test piece.
3.2
C-scan C-scan
A two-dimensional measurement of the surface of the workpiece to be measured response data display, abscissa and ordinate on behalf of the probe surface of the test piece
Position, pixel color, or grayscale represents the measured response of the device under test.
3.3
Conformable conformable
The sensor or array sensor is coupled to the workpiece surface, and the effect of the coupling error on the measurement is within acceptable limits.
3.4
Depth of sensitivity
The depth at which the property is located when the sensor's response to the property to be detected exceeds the noise threshold.
Note. In general, the depth of sensitivity is less than the depth of penetration. Because the sensitivity depth is the equivalent of the signal picked up versus the noise, and the penetration depth is
Field strength attenuation along the depth direction.
3.5
All continuous reference discontinuity-freereferencestandard
The material to be inspected is all or part of the continuous test or has the same electromagnetic properties as the tested material and does not contain discontinuous test blocks.
