Melting point and melting range of test methods for chemicals
Capillary method
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test methods for melting point and melting range of chemicals - capillary method.
This standard applies to chemicals and determination of melting range of the melting point is higher than the temperature range from room temperature to 300 ℃ general method.
Note 1. m.p. suitable material having a defined melting point.
Note 2. The melting range of suitable (such as glass, amorphous form, or a multicomponent mixture, such as oils, fats, waxes, vaseline, etc.) without a defined melting point substance.
Note 3. If the other individual product testing methods or standards of a series of products are not specified in this standard method is recommended according to the standard method
test.
Note 4. The method described in this standard is the general method for secure very good chemicals. For some chemicals, due to their volatility, explosive or radiation
Shoot, can not guarantee the safety test, do not apply this standard.

Test Method 5 melting point
The method can determine the melting point of any of the following methods.
a) visual method;
b) instrument method.
5.1 visual method
5.1.1 Principle of the method
Heated heat transfer liquid sample is placed in a glass capillary, the melting point by visual observation.
5.1.2 Apparatus and equipment
5.1.2.1 melting point apparatus
The capillary tube containing the sample is fixed on the thermometer, so that the capillary portion containing the sample is close to the thermometer mercury ball in the middle, will
Immersing a heating device in the center of the heat transfer liquid from the bottom 20mm high position, as shown in Fig.
