This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 20784-2013 "potassium nitrate for agriculture". The main technical changes compared with GB/T 20784-2013 are as follows.
--- Adjusted product technical indicators according to domestic agricultural demand and product quality level (see 3.2, 3.2 of.2013 edition);
--- Increased instrumental analysis of potassium oxide (see 4.3.2);
--- Increased temperature titration of potassium oxide (see 4.3.3);
--- Increased instrumental analysis of total nitrogen (see 4.4.2);
--- Increased water insoluble test method (see 4.7);
--- Increased test methods for the content of harmful elements (arsenic, cadmium, lead, chromium, mercury) (see 4.9).
This standard was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of potassium nitrate for agriculture.
This standard is applicable to solid potassium nitrate products for agricultural use used as nitrogen and potassium binary compound fertilizers produced by various processes.
