Summary
This standard specifies the paint, varnish or related products under standard conditions dry coating to withstand a drop hammer (20mm diameter spherical punch) from the impact deformation, resistance to it from cracking or flaking ability substrate test methods. This section applies as passed or failed the test, the test prescribed quality hammer falling from a certain height to determine the coating meets the requirements of a particular specification. As a classification test, by gradually increasing the drop height and/or weight to determine the quality of the coating causing cracking or peeling from the substrate mass minimum weight and/or height of fall.
