This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents"

This document replaces GB/T 18513-2001 "Names of Main Imported Timbers in China". Compared with GB/T 18513-2001, except for structural adjustment
In addition to the adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Changed 26 subjects (Latin and Chinese names) such as Aceraceae (see Table 1, Table 2, Table 1 and Table 2 of the.2001 edition); change
The Chinese names of 13 families such as Lepidaceae are listed (see Table 1 and Table 2, Table 1 and Table 2 of the.2001 edition).
b) The Chinese names of 401 genera such as Kauri have been added (see Table 1 and Table 2).
c) Changed 104 Latin names of tree species such as Sabinavirginiana (see Table 1 and Table 2, Table 1 and Table 2 of the.2001 edition); changed
There are 98 Chinese names of tree species such as juniper in North America (see Table 1 and Table 2, Table 1 and Table 2 of the.2001 edition);
There are 28 repeated Latin names/Chinese names of tree species such as insularis (see Table 1 and Table 2, Table 1 and Table 2 of the.2001 edition);
d) 81 names of wood such as Mexican cypress were changed (see Table 1 and Table 2, Table 1 and Table 2 of the.2001 edition);
There are 28 material names (see Table 1 and Table 2).

1 Scope
This document stipulates the names of the main imported timber in China, and gives the corresponding tree species names (Chinese and Latin names), family names, and genus names
and other information.
This document is applicable to timber production, trade, scientific research, quality inspection and teaching, etc.

4 Timber name
4.1 Coniferous timber
There are 23 names of coniferous trees, including 63 species of coniferous trees in 5 families, 23 genera (see Table 1).
4.2 Hardwoods
There are 365 names of broad-leaved trees, including 971 species of broad-leaved trees in 85 families, 378 genera (see Table 2).
