This document replaces GB/T 18257-2000 "Hot Surface Marking of Refractory Bricks for Rotary Kiln". Compared with GB/T 18257-2000, the main technology
The technical changes are as follows.
--- Changed the scope of application and deleted "Applicable to the identification of refractory bricks for different kiln diameters" (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2000 edition);
---The identification of the inner diameter of the kiln shell has been deleted (see 4.3 in the.2000 edition);
---Added groove identification mark combination (see 4.2.3);
--- Changed the color code method (see 4.3, 5.1 of the.2000 edition);
---The color code for the inner diameter of various kiln shells has been deleted (see 5.2 of the.2000 edition).

1 Scope
This document specifies the marking method for the hot surface of refractory bricks for rotary kilns.
This document is applicable to the design and selection of the hot surface marking of refractory bricks for rotary kilns.

4 Technical requirements
4.1 General
The hot surface marking of refractory bricks for rotary kilns usually adopts the groove method. The color code method can be used as a supplementary mark as needed.
Note. The need for color code is determined by the supplier and the buyer.
4.2 Groove method
4.2.1 Groove type
In order to be easy to identify, the shape of each groove should be different and go deep into the brick body. The periphery of all notches should be curved. Figure 1 shows three types of grooves

The groove should be located on the centerline of the hot surface of the refractory brick or on a straight line about 66mm away from the centerline, as shown in Figure 1.
