This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"

This document replaces GB/T 1480-2012 "Determination of particle size of metal powders by dry sieving method".
In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The test steps have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 of the.2012 edition);

1 Scope
This document describes a method for determining the particle size distribution of metal powders by dry sieving.
This document applies to dry, lubricant-free metal powders.
This document does not apply to metal powders with obviously unequal shapes (such as flakes) and metal powders with particle sizes that are all or mostly less than 45μm.

3 Terms and definitions

4 Principle
The metal powder is separated into different sieve sizes by vibrating a set of test sieves arranged in order of sieve hole size.

5.1 Calibration of the sieve set
Calibrated non-magnetic wire mesh test sieves have different nominal apertures. Each sieve should be mounted on a non-magnetic metal sieve frame.
The nominal diameter of the screen frame is.200mm and the nominal depth is 25mm~50mm.
