1 Scope
This document specifies a method for the quantitative X-ray determination of α-Al2O3 phase in corundum abrasives.
This document applies to the quantitative determination of α-Al2O3 phase in various corundum abrasives.

4 Preparation of analytical samples
4.1 Sampling
4.1.1 Ingot sample
Take a statistically representative crystalline block, crush it until it completely passes through a screen with a basic mesh size of 1mm, and then use the JB/T 6570 medium gauge.
Determine the iron alloy particle measurement with a magnet to suck out the iron brought in. Mix evenly, reduce to 10g~20g by quartering method, put into sample bag,
Dry in an oven at 105 ℃ ~ 110 ℃ for 1 hour, take it out, put it in a desiccator, and cool it for later use.
4.1.2 Abrasive samples
According to GB/T 4676 for sampling and reduction.
Abrasives with a particle size greater than 1mm shall be sampled according to the method in 4.1.1.
Abrasives with a particle size not greater than 1mm are directly reduced to 10g~20g, put into a sample bag, and dried in an oven at 105℃~110℃
1h, take it out, put it in a desiccator, and cool it for later use.
4.2 Sample grinding and mixing
4.2.1 Use powdered Si with a purity greater than 99.9% (particle size less than 45 μm) as the internal standard substance.
4.2.2 Weigh about 5g of the sample in 4.1.1 or 4.1.2, put it into a corundum mortar and grind it thoroughly, and make it all pass through the mesh. The basic size is
