1 Scope
This chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following.
This document specifies the installation of commercial cooking appliances such as stoves, single and double-sided griddles and deep fryers, not intended for household use.
Safety requirements for electric range hoods.
This document is applicable to single-phase range hoods connected to one phase line and one neutral line, with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V.
The rated voltage shall not exceed 480V.
This document also applies to stand-alone complete units and cooker hoods assembled into a whole from separate components (including a fan).
The following systems are also included.
---Rear ventilation system;
--- Downdraft ventilation system;
---Smoke exhaust module.
NOTE 101 Scope hoods are used in kitchens such as restaurants, food shops, hospitals and in commercial enterprises such as bakeries and butchers.
The range hood can be used above one or more different or the same types of appliances.
As far as is practical, this document deals with the common hazards arising from this type of apparatus.
Note 102.Pay attention to the following.
--- For range hoods intended for use on vehicles, ships or aircraft, there are necessary additional requirements;
--- In many countries, relevant health care departments, labor protection departments, water supply management departments and similar departments have regulations on the safe use of appliances.
