This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents"

This document replaces GB 23238-2009 "Sperm of Breeding Pigs at Room Temperature". Compared with GB 23238-2009, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes
In addition, the main technical changes are as follows.

1 Scope
This document specifies the quality and technical requirements, sampling, test methods, inspection rules, labels and accompanying documents, packaging, and storage of boar semen at room temperature.
Storage, transportation, shelf life, and disposal of substandard products.
This document applies to commercial boar semen products at room temperature.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Boar
Boars whose body appearance and performance quality meet the requirements of this breed standard and have breeding value.
Note. It comes from a breeding farm or boar station with a "breeding livestock and poultry production and operation license" and "animal epidemic prevention certificate", or a qualified pig performance testing station.
3.2
Room temperature semen liquidsemen
The collected boar semen is the semen that has been diluted but not frozen at room temperature (16°C-18°C).
3.3
Semenconcentration
The number of sperm contained in each milliliter of semen.
3.4
Sperm motility
The degree of forward movement sperm activity in semen.
Note. When the semen temperature is around 37°C, it is expressed as the percentage of the number of forward-moving sperm in the semen to the total number of sperm.

Numberofprogressivelymotilesperm
The total number of forward-moving sperm in each dose of semen.

Abnormal sperm
Sperm with abnormal morphology.
