This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GA/T 151-1996 "Newborn Autopsy". 1 Scope

This standard specifies the principles, contents, steps and methods of neonatal autopsy in forensic medicine. This standard applies to forensic pathology examination of newborn cadavers.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Neonate neonate Infants from the mother's delivery to 28 days after birth. 3.2 Baby infant Children from birth to one year after birth. 3.3 Lung floating test hydrostatictestoflungs After the newborn's lungs are put into the clear water, whether the newborn is alive or not is determined according to the floating or sinking. 3.4 Gastrointestinal floating test hydrostatictestofstomachandbowel After the gastrointestinal tract of the newborn is put into the clear water, whether the newborn is alive or not can be judged according to the floating or sinking. 3.5 Livebirth After delivery, the fetus has vital signs such as heartbeat, spontaneous breathing, reflex activity, and limb movement. 3.6 Stillbirth deadbirth Fetuses over 28 weeks of gestation and above (or birth weight of 1000 g and above) die during delivery.
