Those listed below and the definitions in QC/T 417.1-2001 are adopted in this Standard. 3.1 Main Stem A portion of a wire harness in which two or more wires are taped together, as shown in Figure 1. 3.2 Lateral A portion of a wire harness in which the ends of the wires are not taped or a single wire, as shown in Figure 1. 3.3 Embranchment Point The intersection of main stem and main stem or main stem and lateral center line in the wire harness, as shown in Figure 1. 3.4 Juncture The connection point of wire and wire, as shown in Figure 1. Figure 1 Diagram of Wire Harness 3.8 Clip A component mounted on a wire harness for fixing with a vehicle body or other corresponding components. 3.9 Desiccation Bound The area which requires no special waterproofing treatment because a wire harness is installed in cab, compartment, trunk or other parts.4 Requirements
4.1 General Requirements 4.2 Appearance 4.2.1 The installation of wires and parts, the position of embranchment points and the embranchment direction shall meet the requirements of drawings and technical requirements. 4.2.2 The wires and parts shall be free from the defects including damage, and deformation. 4.2.3 The terminals shall not come off the protection sleeve. 4.2.4 After the terminals with seal plug for insulated crimping are installed with the protection sleeves, the seal plug shall not retreat from the protection sleeves. 4.2.7 The wire harness banded with adhesive tape, as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4, shall meet the following requirements. 4.3 Size of Wire Harness 4.3.1 The length of main stems and protection sleeves shall not be less than 50 mm. 4.4 Connection of Terminals and Wires 4.4.1 Crimp connection. The connection of terminals and the wires shall give priority to the crimping method shown in Figure 9. 4.8 Temperature Resistance Performance The wire harnesses shall meet the requirements of 4.2 and 4.7 after low temperature, high temperature and temperature change resistance tests according to the lower limit working temperature Tmin and upper limit working temperature Tmax provided in drawings and technical documents.5 Test Method
5.1 Test Conditions Unless otherwise specified, the test sample shall be tested after stabilization for 24 h under the conditions as follows. 5.3 Dimensional Inspection 5.3.1 Use a steel tap to measure the basic dimensions of wire harnesses and the dimensions of taping. 5.3.2 Use a special gauge or protractor to measure the direction of wire harness branching and the direction of clips. 5.4 Test of Terminal and Wire Connection 5.4.1 Take visual inspection for a), b), c) and d) in 4.4.2 Conductor crimping and 4.4.4 and 4.4.8. 5.4.5 Connection strength test. Conductor crimp Cut-off position Wire Cut-off position. It shall not be close to the location of front and back R; it shall be close to the middle position of the crimping area while avoiding the interior reinforcing bar of terminals. 5.5.4 Water immersion test of damp bound juncture. 5.5.6 Crimping juncture cross-section. implement in accordance with 5.4.4. 5.6 Waterproof Performance Test of Rubber Parts 5.6.1 Test facility. partition board, φ16 mm spray water hose, high pressure water pump, water pressure regulator and chronograph. 5.6.2 Test sample. take samples from actual products; the samples shall be 100 mm at least longer than the waterproof portion of rubber parts.7 Marking, Packaging, Storage and Custody
7.1 Marking 7.1.1 The wire harnesses shall be provided with a distinctive mark which is not easily detached. 7.1.2 When it is not required by drawings and technical documents, the product marking shall include the items as follows. 7.2 Packaging Packing documents. 7.3 Storage and Custody The storage and storage of the product shall meet the relevant requirements of QC/T 238.The shelf life of the product is normally 2 years.
