Dry type air cleaner assembly of automobiles
1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection
rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage of dry-type air cleaner
assemblies of automobiles.
This document applies to dry-type air cleaner assemblies (hereinafter referred
to as assemblies) of automobiles (excluding passenger cars), which have a
volume flow of less than 4000 m3/h. For the dry air cleaners for construction
machinery, agricultural and forestry machinery, ships and stationary power, they
may also refer to this document.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the indispensable clauses
of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, for
dated reference documents, only the version corresponding to that date is
applicable to this document; for undated reference documents, the latest
version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

Sampling schemes indexed by acceptance quality limit (AQL) for lot-by-lot
inspection
GB/T 3730.1 Motor vehicles and trailers - Types - Terms and definitions

GB/T 28949 Inlet air cleaning equipment for internal combustion engines and
compressors - Performance testing
GB/T 28957.1 Road vehicles - Test dust for filter evaluation - Part 1: Silicon
The outer surface of the assembly shall be free of obvious defects, such as
scars, bumps, roughens, burrs. The coating and plating shall be free of defects,
such as cracks, shedding, sagging, bottom exposure.
5 Test method
5.1 Cleanliness of assembly
The air cleaner assembly shall be operated in accordance with the provisions
of 5.1.1 in QC/T 32-2017. For the whole process of the initial weighing -
disassembling - cleaning - re-assembling and restoration - secondary weighing
of the assembly, it shall be finished within 30 min, under the specified laboratory
environment.
5.2 Original air intake resistance of assembly
According to the requirements of 5.1.2 of QC/T 32-2017, the test is carried out
at the rated air volume flow.
5.3 Original filtration efficiency of assembly
According to the absolute filter method of 5.1.4.1 OR the direct weighing
method of 5.1.4.2 in QC/T 32-2017, the test is carried out at the rated air volume
flow.
5.4 Pre-filtration efficiency
According to requirement of 5.1.5 in QC/T 32-2017, the test is carried out at the
rated air volume flow.
5.5 Laboratory life of assembly
Carry out the laboratory life test of assembly, according to the requirements of
5.1.6 in QC/T 32-2017. Under the rated air volume flow, when the assembly
reaches the test termination condition, that is, the air intake resistance reaches
6 kPa, OR the filtration efficiency of the assembly is that, the original filtration
efficiency drops by 0.5%, the test ends.
5.6 Whole-life filtration efficiency of assembly
Carry out the test of whole-life filtration efficiency of the assembly, according to
the provisions of 5.1.6 in QC/T 32-2017. Under the rated air volume flow, when
the assembly reaches the test termination condition, that is, the air intake
resistance reaches 6 kPa, OR the filtration efficiency of the assembly is that,
the original filtration efficiency drops by 0.5%, the test ends.
5.7 Ash capacity of assembly
test of the assembly, in accordance with the requirements of 5.3 in QC/T 32-
2017. For the weather resistance test of the assembly, it may use a new
assembly, OR use an assembly, that has been subjected to the air intake
resistance/pressure loss test, the original filtration efficiency test, the pre-
filtration efficiency test. The actual condition of the assembly shall be indicated
in the test report.
5.13 Resistance to low-temperature shock
Place the assembly in a low-temperature chamber, at -30 °C ± 2 °C, for 4 hours.
Take it out. Quickly install it on the test bench. According to the test Ehc: vertical
fall hammer, in Chapter 6 of GB/T 2423.55-2006, select the 500 g steel hammer,
to carry out the test, by impacting the surface of the sample, at a height of 400
mm from the sample.
5.14 Resistance to free fall impact
The test is carried out in accordance with 5.2 Free fall - method 1 in GB/T
2423.7-2018. For the test severity level, it shall select the fall height and mass,
according to the preferred number, which is indicated in boldface in Table 1.
5.15 Corrosion resistance
The assembly is tested according to the neutral salt spray (NSS) test procedure,
which is specified in GB/T 10125-2012.
5.16 Seals
The rubber seal of the assembly shall be tested in accordance with the
requirements of HG/T 4785.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Exit-factory inspection
a) Each product can only be exit-factory, after passing the inspection by the
quality inspection department AND being accompanied by a product
certificate.
b) The inspection items shall meet the requirements of 4.17.
c) When the ordering organization randomly inspects the products, it shall
be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB 2828.1. The
sampling scheme and the acceptance quality limit (AQL) shall be
determined, through negotiation, between the supplier and the buyer.
6.2 Type inspection
6.2.1 Type inspection shall be carried out in one of the following situations:
a) Identification of type finalization of new products;
b) For normally produced products, when the major changes in structure,
materials, processes, may affect performance;
c) For the products that are normally produced, they shall be inspected once
every two years;
d) When there is a big difference between the result of the exit-factory
inspection and the result of the last type inspection;
e) When the national quality supervision agency puts forward a requirement
for type inspection.
6.2.2 The items for type inspection are all the items specified in Chapter 4. The
test of resistance to vibration fatigue of assembly is an optional test item.
6.2.3 The sampling scheme is determined, through negotiation, between the
supplier and the buyer. However, it cannot be less than 3 pieces.
7 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage
7.1 Each product shall have the following markings:
a) Factory logo or trademark;
b) Product model and implementation standard;
c) Instructions for use, which shall be clear and concise; the marking shall
be clear; the location and size shall meet the requirements of the product
drawing;
d) It can be marked according to the requirements of the OEM; the specific
content is determined, through negotiation, between the supplier and the
buyer.
7.2 Each product shall be cleaned before packaging AND subjected to rust-
prevention treatment. Dust prevention measures shall be taken at the entrance
and exit.
7.3 The packaged products shall be packed into dry packaging boxes, which
are lined with moisture-proof materials. It shall be guaranteed that they will not
be damaged, during normal transportation. The outside of the packaging boxes
shall have the following signs:
