1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, statistical scope, calculation methods
of comprehensive water consumption for unit output of automobile products.
This document is applicable to the calculation of comprehensive water consumption for
unit output of automobile products.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the essential provisions of this
document through normative references in the text. Among them, for dated references,
only the version corresponding to the date applies to this document; for undated
references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions, as defined in GB/T 21534-2008, as well as the following
terms and definitions, apply to this document.
3.1
Total comprehensive water consumption of automobile products
The amount of water, which is actually consumed during the entire production
process of automobile products, within a certain measurement period.
3.2
Comprehensive water consumption for unit output of automobile products
Within a certain measurement period, the ratio -- of the comprehensive water
consumption of automobile products TO the total amount of qualified products
4.3 Types of comprehensive water consumption statistics
The types of automobile comprehensive water consumption statistics include surface
water (measured by water supply from water purification plants), groundwater, urban
water supply projects, other water or water products purchased by enterprises from the
market (such as steam, hot water, geothermal water, etc.). However, for steam, hot water,
underground hot water and other heated water or aquatic products, that do not enter the
unit product or use condensed water, they are not included in the statistics.
The types of comprehensive water consumption statistics for automobiles do not
include seawater, brackish water, rainwater, reused water, which is taken by the
enterprise itself, as well as the amount of water used by the enterprise for water products
supplied to the market (such as steam, hot water, and geothermal water, etc.).
Note: Recycled water refers to the wastewater, which is generated by enterprises, as stipulated
in 3.21 of GB/T 21534-2018, which is used directly or after treatment in a water unit or system.
4.4 Statistical cycle
The statistical cycle shall be a certain period of continuous production, which has a
statistical cycle of at least no less than 12 natural months.
4.5 Statistics on the quantity of automobile products
The statistics of quantity of automobile products shall be the quantity of qualified
automobile products, which are produced within the statistical cycle.
5 Calculation method
5.1 Calculation method of comprehensive water consumption of automobile
products
5.1.1 Calculation method of water intake in production system
The water consumption Q1 of the production system, in the production process of
automobile products, is calculated according to formula (1):

Q1 - The maximum value of water, which is taken from the production system,
during the production of automobile products, in cubic meters (m3);
QA - The numerical value of the water intake for the stamping process, in cubic
meters (m3)
