This Document is applicable to encapsulated glazing for road vehicles produced by injection molding process. This Document is not applicable to encapsulated glazing for road vehicles produced by the tape bonding process. 2 Normative References The following documents are essential to the application of this Document. GB/T 250 Textiles - Tests for Colour Fastness - Grey Scale for Assessing Change in Colour GB 8410 Flammability of Automotive Interior Materials GB 9656 Safety Glasses for Road Vehicles GB/T 11942 Colorimetric Methods for Colour Building Materials GB/T 17340 Road Vehicles - Safety Glasses - Dimensions, Shapes and Appearances GB 17930 Gasoline for Motor Vehicles GB 19147 Automobile Diesel Fuels GB/T 22523 Feeler Gauge QC/T 643-2000 Vehicle- Test Method of Contact Stain- Sealing Strips 3.10 Shrink mark Local depression marks on the surface that are caused by shrinkage. 3.11 Flow mark Surface marks that are caused by poor flow of encapsulation material. 3.12 Gas mark When the melt fails to adhere to the cavity due to gas interference during mold filling, misty or scattered traces are formed on the surface of the product. 3.13 Encapsulation bright patches Spot-like chromatic aberration defects that are partially shiny on the encapsulation surface. 3.14 Weld bond The wiring where two or more strands of molten material meet during the injection molding process. 3.15 Orange peel grain Orange peel grain that appears on the encapsulation surface. 3.16 White line Visible white lines that are formed on the edge of the glass after injection molding. 3.17 Crack Traces of cracks or ruptures in the encapsulation material 3.18 Parting line The boundary line between the upper and lower molds of the injection mold or the boundary line created by the splicing of the molds. 3.19 Datum The locations or regional points that are predetermined for detection and positioning on the encapsulated glazing. 5.10 Xenon lamp aging resistance After the test, the encapsulation material shall have no defects such as cracking, chalking, bubbles or sticking; and the grey scale shall be no lower than Level-4. 5.11 Chemical resistance After the test, the encapsulation material shall have no defects such as cracking, chalking, bubbles or sticking; and the grey scale shall be no lower than Level-4. 5.12 Pollution resistance After the test, there shall be no traces or light-yellow contamination outlines on the test panel. 5.13 Flame resistance The burning speed of the encapsulation material shall not exceed 70 mm/min. 6 Test Methods 6.1 Test conditions Except for special provisions, the test shall be carried out under the following conditions: a) Ambient temperature: 20°C±5°C; b) Atmospheric pressure: 8.60×104Pa~1.06×105Pa; c) Relative humidity: 40%~80%. 6.2 Appearance quality 6.2.1 For the cleavage requirements in Table 2, take the product as the specimen, and compare the difference between the specimen and the colour plate by visual inspection. 6.2.2 For the colour requirements in Table 2, take the product as the specimen, compare the difference between the specimen and the colour plate by visual inspection; when there is a visual difference, test according to the provisions of GB/T 11942. 6.2.3 For the appearance quality requirements other than the cleavage and colour in Table 2, take the product as the specimen, and place the specimen on the inspection bench at an ambient illuminance above 1000Lx. The inspector is 600mm~800mm Figure 3 – Schematic Diagram of Bonding Strength Test of Metal Peg after Encapsulation 6.6 Low temperature resistance 6.6.1 Specimen Take the product as the specimen; and the quantity shall be in accordance with the requirements of 6.5. Place the specimen for at least 72h under the test conditions specified in 6.1 before the test. 6.6.2 Test device In the environmental test chamber, the temperature deviation range shall be within ±2°C, and the temperature uniformity shall be no greater than 2°C. 6.6.3 Test procedures 6.6.3.1 Place the specimen in a test chamber at a temperature of -40°C±2°C for 48h; and then take it out and place it for 2h under the test conditions specified in 6.1. 6.6.3.2 Visually inspect the appearance of the specimen; and record the appearance state. 6.6.3.3 Carry out the bonding strength test between the encapsulation material and the glass according to the procedures in 6.5.1.3. 6.6.3.4 For specimens with metal peg, carry out the bonding strength test according to the procedures in 6.5.2.2.3. 6.7 High temperature resistance 6.7.1 Specimen Take the product as the specimen; and the quantity shall be in accordance with the requirements of 6.5. Place the specimen for at least 72h under the test conditions specified in 6.1 before the test. 6.7.2 Test device In the environmental test chamber, the temperature deviation range shall be within ±2°C, and the temperature uniformity shall be no greater than 2°C. 6.7.3 Test procedures 6.7.3.1 Place the specimen in a test chamber at a temperature of 85°C±3°C for 168h; and then take it out and place it under the test conditions specified in 6.1 for 2h. 6.7.3.2 Visually inspect the appearance of the specimen; and record the appearance state. 6.7.3.3 Carry out the bonding strength test between the encapsulation material and the glass according to the procedures in 6.5.1.3. 6.7.3.4 For specimens with metal peg, carry out the bonding strength test according to the procedures in 6.5.2.2.3. 6.8 Humidity resistance 6.8.1 Specimen Take the product as the specimen; and the quantity shall be in accordance with the requirements of 6.5. Place the specimen for at least 72h under the test conditions specified in 6.1 before the test. 6.8.2 Test device Environmental test chamber. Accuracy requirements: temperature deviation range shall be within ±2°C, relative humidity deviation range shall be within ±4%; temperature uniformity shall be no greater than 2°C; relative humidity uniformity shall be no greater than 4%. 6.8.3 Test procedures 6.8.3.1 Place the specimen in a test chamber at a temperature of 50°C±3°C and a relative humidity of 95%±4% for 240h; and then take it out and place it for 2h under the test conditions specified in 6.1. 6.8.3.2 Visually inspect the appearance of the specimen and record the appearance state. 6.8.3.3 Carry out the bonding strength test between the encapsulation material and the glass according to the procedures in 6.5.1.3. 6.8.3.4 For specimens with metal peg, the bonding strength test shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of 6.5.2.2.3. 6.9 High and low temperature cycle resistance 6.9.1 Specimen Take the product as the specimen; and the quantity shall be in accordance with the requirements of 6.5. Place the specimen for at least 72h under the test conditions specified in 6.1 before the test. level of the grey scale card, the level is regarded as the grey scale of the specimen. When the colour difference is equal to the middle of some two levels in the grey scale card, it can be set as the middle level. 6.11 Chemical resistance 6.11.1 Specimen Take the product as the specimen; the quantity is 3 pieces. Place the specimen for at least 72h under the test conditions specified in 6.1 before the test. 6.11.2 Chemicals The chemicals used in the test shall include: --- Vehicle window cleaning fluid: Commercially available glass cleaning fluid; --- Gasoline: gasoline for automobiles that complies with the provisions of GB 17930; --- Diesel: Diesel for vehicles that complies with the provisions of GB 19147. 6.11.3 Test procedures 6.11.3.1 Clean the specimen to ensure that there are no other residuals on the encapsulation surface of the specimen. 6.11.3.2 Wrap the encapsulation part of the specimen by gauze fully wetted by the chemical; keep for 1 min; remove the gauze; dry the surface of the specimen by cotton cloth; leave the sample to dry naturally for 4h and observe the appearance change visually. Detect the grey scale according to the procedures in 6.10.3.4 and record the chemical designations. 6.11.3.3 In each test against each chemical, a new specimen shall be used. NOTE: If the size of the specimen is large enough to ensure that it does not affect each other, the test of resistance to multiple chemicals can be carried out on one specimen. 6.12 Pollution resistance The test shall be carried out in accordance with Method-B of exposure pollution test method specified in QC/T 643-2000. 6.13 Flame resistance The test shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB 8410. unqualified. 7.3 Type inspection 7.3.1 General Type inspection shall be carried out in one of the following situations: a) Trial type appraisal of new or old products transferred to other factory for production; b) After formal production, if there are major changes in structure, materials and processes, which may affect product performance; c) During normal production, an inspection shall be performed periodically or after a certain amount of output has been accumulated; d) When the production is resumed after the product has been suspended for a long time (referring to more than 1 year); e) When there is a significant difference between the exit-factory inspection result and the previous type inspection. 7.3.2 Inspection items All items specified in 5.2~5.13. 7.3.3 Batching The same as 7.2.2. 7.3.4 Sampling For the items of appearance quality, size and goodness of fit, 3 pieces shall be randomly selected from this batch of products. Other items are randomly selected from the batch of products according to the quantity required by each inspection item specified in Clause 6. 7.3.5 Judgment 7.3.5.1 Qualification judgment for single item If each item to be tested of the specimen, such as appearance quality, size, goodness of fit, bonding performance, low temperature resistance, high temperature resistance, humidity resistance, high and low temperature cycle resistance, xenon lamp aging resistance, chemical resistance, pollution resistance, flame resistance, etc. meet the requirements, then such item is judged to be qualified; otherwise, it is unqualified. ......
