Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020
"Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents".
This document replaces QB/T 4839-2015 "Upholstered furniture - Foam mattress".
Compared with QB/T 4839-2015, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial
changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) ADD the requirements for zippers (see Table 3 No.19, 20, 21, 22);
b) ADD the requirements for textile fabric physicochemical properties. pilling
performance requirements (see Table 3 No.23);
c) ADD the physical properties of soft polyurethane foam plastic core material.
compression permanent deformation (see Table 3 No.26);
d) CHANGE the physical properties of slow-rebound soft polyurethane foam plastic
core material. recovery time (see Table 3 No.36; Table 3 No.25 of the 2015
edition);

1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for dimensional deviation, fabric, physical
properties, etc. of foam mattresses; describes the corresponding test methods; specifies
the inspection rules, marking, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and
storage; provides symbols and product classifications that facilitate technical provisions.
This document is applicable to the quality inspection and quality determination of foam
mattresses with a thickness of not less than 130 mm; it is used as a reference for foam
mattresses with a thickness of less than 130 mm.

3 Terms, definitions, symbols
3.1 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions as defined in QB/T 1952.2, as well as the following terms
and definitions, apply to this document.
3.1.1
Foam mattress
A mattress product made of natural latex, synthetic latex, polyurethane and other
materials, which are formed by foaming process as the main core material and
covered with fabric or composite fabric.
3.1.2
Ash content
The incombustible components left after burning of latex or polyurethane materials
in foam mattresses (3.1.1).
3.2 Symbols
The following symbols apply to this document, as shown in Table 1.
4 Product classification
4.1 Classification by main design dimensions of the product
See Table 2 for the classification by main design dimensions of the product.
4.2 Classification by core material
4.2.1 Latex mattress
Mattress with natural or synthetic latex material as the core (core material) and covered
with fabric or other materials on the surface.
5 Requirements
The product shall comply with the requirements of Table 3.
6 Test method
6.1 General test conditions
6.1.1 Test preparation
Before the test, the specimen shall be placed in a standard environment with a
temperature of (23 ± 2) °C and a relative humidity of (50 ± 5)% for at least 24 hours.
During the aging equilibrium period, the mattress shall remain flat and unloaded; the
test shall be conducted indoors.
6.1.2 Measurement accuracy
Unless otherwise specified, the force measurement shall be accurate to ±5%; the mass
measurement shall be accurate to ±0.5%; the size measurement shall be accurate to ±1
mm; the position of the load pad shall be accurate to ±5 mm.
6.2 Test device
6.2.1 Side guard
A device used to prevent the test piece from moving but not to limit the test piece from
tipping over. Its height shall not exceed 12 mm. If the test piece has a special structure,
a higher size may be used; however, its maximum height shall be just enough to prevent
the test piece from moving.
6.6 Physical and chemical properties of textile fabrics
6.6.1 Anti-pilling performance
The anti-pilling performance shall be measured according to the method of GB/T
4802.2.The test load for woven fabrics is (415 ± 2) g; the test load for knitted fabrics
is (155 ± 1) g.
6.11 Mass loss after dry heat aging
Take a specimen with a size of 100 mm × 100 mm × 25 mm. Place it in a standard
environment at a temperature of (23 ± 2) °C and a relative humidity of (50 ± 5)%, until
constant weight. Weigh it (m0). Then place it in an oven at a temperature of (105 ± 2) °C
for 48 hours. Weigh it (m1). Calculate the mass loss after dry heat aging. The number
of specimens is 5.
6.24 Sign
Check whether the product has a sign and whether the content complies with the
provisions of 8.1.
6.25 Instructions for use
Check whether the product has instructions for use and whether the content complies
with the provisions of 8.2.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Inspection classification
Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.
7.2 Exit-factory inspection
7.2.1 Exit-factory inspection items
Exit-factory inspection is an inspection conducted when the product leaves the factory
or is delivered. Serial No.1 ~ 22, 53 ~ 55 (a total of 25 items) in Table 3 are exit-factory
inspection items.
7.2.3 Evaluation of exit-factory inspection results
7.2.3.1 If the basic items of a single product are all qualified, meanwhile the number of
unqualified items of general items is not more than 3, then the product is qualified;
otherwise, it is unqualified.
7.3 Type inspection
7.3.1 Inspection items
All inspection items specified in Chapter 5 (except those required by the contract).
7.3.2 Timing of type inspection
It is performed once a year in normal production; it shall also be conducted in any of
the following situations.
7.3.4 Inspection procedure
The inspection procedure follows the principle of not affecting the correctness of the
remaining inspection items as much as possible.
7.3.5 Determination of inspection results
Inspection results are divided into superior products, first-grade products, qualified
products, unqualified products. The product quality grade is evaluated according to the
provisions of Table 5.
8 Marking, instructions for use, packaging, transportation, storage
8.1 Marking
Product marking shall include at least the following.
8.2 Instructions for use
The main contents of the product instructions for use shall comply with the provisions
of GB/T 5296.6.It shall include at least.
8.3 Packaging
Products shall be packaged to prevent contamination and damage.
