3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 high-oil soybean
Soybeans with crude fat content (dry basis) not less than 20.0%.
3.2 high-protein soybean
Soybeans with crude protein content (dry basis) not less than 40.0%.
3.3 mass of 100 soybeans
The mass of whole soybeans per hundred grains under the condition of moisture content
of 13%.
4 Classification
According to the provisions of Chapter 4 of GB 1352-2009.
5 Requirements
5.1 Grades
5.1.1 Basic requirements for grades
Each grade of soybeans shall meet the following basic conditions:
- With normal color and smell of soybeans;
- Impurity content ≤ 1.0%;
- Moisture content ≤ 13.0%.
5.1.2 Classification of soybean grades
Under the premise of meeting the basic requirements for grades, soybeans are divided
into five grades: grade 1, grade 2, grade 3, grade 4 and grade 5 according to the
percentage of intact kernels and damaged kernels. The classification of soybean grades
shall comply with the provisions in Table 1.
According to the provisions of GB/T 5512.
7.6 Crude protein
According to the provisions of GB/T 5511.
7.7 Mass of 100 soybeans
Measure according to the method specified in GB/T 5519-2008. Convert the calculation
result into mass of 100 soybeans under 13% moisture. The result is rounded to one
decimal place.
8 Inspection rules
8.1 The general rules of inspection shall be carried out according to the provisions of
GB/T 5490.
8.2 The inspection batches are soybeans of the same variety, same origin, same harvest
year, same transport unit, and same storage unit.
8.3 Soybeans are rated according to the percentage of intact kernels. Grade 3 is medium.
If the intact kernel rate is lower than the minimum grade, it shall be regarded as off
standard.
8.4 High-oil soybeans are rated according to the crude fat content. Grade 2 is medium.
Soybeans with a crude fat content lower than the minimum grade shall not be regarded
as high-oil soybeans.
8.5 High-protein soybeans are rated according to crude protein content. Grade 2 is
medium. Soybeans whose crude protein content is lower than the minimum grade shall
not be regarded as high-protein soybeans.
9 Labelling
In addition to complying with the provisions of GB 7718, it shall also comply with the
following provisions:
- The name, category, grade, specification, place of origin, harvest year and month
of the product shall be indicated on the package or in the accompanying documents.
