Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces SH/T 0407-1992 "Standard test method for water soluble acids
and alkalis of petroleum waxes". The main differences between this Standard and SH/T
0407-1992 are as follows:
-- Modify the chapter "Method summary" (see 3; 2 of the 1992 edition);
-- Add the chapter "Normative references" (see 2);
-- Change the test temperature to "heat paraffin wax to 75 °C or just melt to
transparent", "heat microcrystalline wax to 10 °C above the drop melting point or
just melt to transparent" (see 6.2; 5.2 of the 1992 edition).
This standard uses the redrafting method to modify and adopt the Japanese Industrial
Standard JIS K 2252-1998 "Petroleum product reaction test method".
In order to suit the national conditions in China, this Standard makes modification to
JIS K 2252-1998 when adopting it. The main differences between this Standard and JIS
K 2252-1998 are as follows:
-- Adopt the corresponding national standards in China as the referenced standards
of this Standard.
-- Add specifications such as "heat paraffin wax to 75 °C or just melt to transparent",
"heat microcrystalline wax to 10 °C above the drop melting point or just melt to
transparent”.

organization of this document is not responsible for identifying these patents.
This Standard was put forward by Sinopec Group.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee on Wax of National
Technical Committee on Petroleum Products and Lubricants of Standardization
Administration of China (SAC/TC 280/SC 3).
The drafting organizations of this Standard: SINOPEC Fushun Research Institute of
Petroleum and Petrochemicals.
The drafters of this Standard: Kang Geping, Zhao Bin.
This Standard was first published in 1992, and this is the first revision.
Standard test method for water soluble acids and alkalis of
petroleum waxes
WARNING: This Standard may address certain hazardous materials, equipment,
and operations, but is not intended to advise on all safety issues
related thereto. Therefore, it is the user's responsibility to establish
appropriate safety and protection measures and to establish the
applicability of relevant regulations before using this Standard.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for water soluble acids and alkalis of petroleum
waxes.
This Standard applies to paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax.
2 Normative references
