Glass fiber reinforced thermosetting resin grating for
supporting loads
1 Scope
This standard specifies the structure, size, product model and marking,
technical conditions, load-bearing requirements, inspection rules and
packaging, marking, storage and transportation of glass fiber reinforced
thermosetting resin grating (hereinafter referred to as grating).
This standard applies to industrial platforms, floors, walkway paving, stair
treads, trench covers, fences and other load-bearing gratings in petrochemical,
metallurgy, light industry, shipbuilding, energy, municipal and other industries.
Non-load-bearing gratings can be implemented with reference to this standard.

through reference in this Standard. For the dated references, the subsequent
amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Standard;
however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Standard are
encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable.
For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies.

Note: Companies can further classify the surface types according to their own
products, such as O1, O2, ……
Example 1: The grating manufactured in accordance with this standard using molding
process, using ethyl ester resin as raw material, concave type, gird size (length x width
x height) is 38 mm x 38 mm x 38 mm is marked as: MVM/ 38 x 38 x 38 - JC/T 1026-
2007.
Example 2: The grating manufactured in accordance with this standard using
pultrusion process, isophthalic resin as raw material, smooth type, specification of I-
4010 is marked as: PIS/I-4010-JC/T 1026-2007.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Raw materials
5.1.1 Resin
5.1.1.1 The unsaturated polyester resin used in the grating shall meet the
requirements of GB/T 8237-2005; the epoxy resin used shall meet the
requirements of GB/T 13657-1992. Other resins shall meet the requirements of
corresponding standards.
5.1.1.2 The chemical resistance of the resin used in the grating shall meet the
requirements of medium temperature, concentration and action time.
5.1.2 Reinforcing materials
5.1.2.1 The reinforcing material used for the grating is selected according to the
use environment. It shall be accompanied with infiltrant compatible with the
chemical properties of the resin system.
5.1.2.2 Glass fiber yarn shall meet the requirements of GB/T 18369-2001.
5.6.3 For load-bearing structures such as stair treads, under the design load,
the deflection at the midpoint of the tread shall not be greater than 1/200 of its
span, the maximum shall not exceed 6 mm. Meanwhile it shall meet the
following requirements:
a) At 1.5 times the design load, the tread will not produce surface cracks,
delamination and other damage;
b) At 5.0 times the design load, the tread will not break.
6 Test method
6.1 Appearance
6.1.1 Use visual inspection for appearance.
6.1.2 The size of the pores on the outer surface shall be inspected with a vernier
caliper which has an accuracy of 0.02 mm.
6.2 Determination of grating size
6.2.1 Divide equally into four parts along the width of the grating. Use a steel
tape which has an accuracy of 1 mm to measure the length of the grating. Take
the arithmetic average of the three measurement results.
6.2.2 Divide equally into four parts along the length of the grating. Use a steel
tape which has an accuracy of 1 mm to measure the length of the grating. Take
the arithmetic average of the three measurement results.
6.2.3 Use a vernier caliper which has an accuracy of 0.02 mm to measure the
thickness of the four sides of the grating at the positions one grid retracted. Take
the arithmetic average of the four measurements.
6.3 Water absorption
The water absorption test is carried out according to GB/T 1462-2005.
6.4 Barcol hardness
Barcol hardness test is carried out according to GB/T 3854-2005.
6.5 Load-bearing capacity
The load-bearing capacity test is carried out in accordance with Appendix A.
Type inspection shall be carried out in one of the following situations.
a) When the material, structure and process have obvious changes after the
first production or normal production, which may affect the product
performance;
b) When production has been suspended for more than half a year and
production is resumed;
c) Twelve months after normal production;
d) When there is a big difference between the exit-factory inspection result
and the last type inspection;
e) When the national quality supervision agency proposes type inspection
requirements.
7.3.2 Inspection items
All items specified in 5.2 ~ 5.6.
7.3.3 Group-batch
Use 100 pieces as a batch; perform random sampling from a batch of products
which approach regular inspection.
7.3.4 Sampling
Randomly select 4 pieces from the inspection batch.
7.3.5 Judgement rules
a) If the appearance meets the requirements, the item is qualified. If it does
not meet the requirements, it is allowed to repair once; after the repair, if
it meets the requirements, the item is qualified, otherwise it is unqualified;
b) If the size and Barcol hardness meet the requirements, the two items are
deemed qualified. If it does not meet the requirements, inspect it piece by
piece, meanwhile it allows the non-compliant products to be processed
and tested again after 15 days. If it meets the requirements, it will be
judged as qualified, otherwise it will be unqualified;
c) If the water absorption and load-bearing capacity meet the requirements,
the two items are deemed qualified, otherwise it is unqualified;
d) If all the samples are qualified, the batch of products is judged to be
qualified, otherwise it is unqualified.
Appendix A
(Normative)
Load-bearing capacity test of glass fiber reinforced thermosetting resin
grating (3-point bending method)
A.1 Test principle
A three-point bending test is performed on the grating by applying a linear load,
to determine the load-bearing capacity of the grating by measuring the
deformation at the midpoint of the span and the corresponding load.
A.2 Test equipment
A.2.1 The test can be carried out on the universal material testing machine or
self-made testing device. The loading capacity of the testing machine (or device)
shall be 25% more than the sample load requirement.
A.2.2 The load measurement shall be accurate to 1%.
A.2.3 The equipment used for deflection measurement shall be accurate to 0.01
mm.
A.3 Preparation of specimen
A.3.1 The relationship between the length of the grating sample and the test
span is as shown in formula A.1
Where:
L1 - The length of the specimen, in millimeters (mm);
L - Test span, in millimeters (mm); commonly used test spans are: 300 mm,
450 mm, 600 mm, 750 mm, 900mm, 1050 mm, 1200 mm, 1500 mm.
A.3.2 The specimen width is 305 mm and contains an appropriate number of
load-bearing ribs. The number of load-bearing ribs is as shown in Table A.1.
A.1 -- Quantity of load-bearing ribs
Spacing of load-bearing ribs / (mm) Quantity of load-bearing ribs
