Foreword
This Standard, through modification, adopts the international standard ISO
6308.1980 "Gypsum plasterboard - specification" (English version).
This Standard was redrafted based on ISO 6308.1980.
As for the clause number comparison between this Standard and ISO
6308.1980, SEE Appendix A.
As compared with ISO 6308.1980, this Standard has the following technical
differences.
- In this Standard, ADD the sheet types, requirements, and test methods
for the water & fire resistant gypsum plasterboard;
- In this Standard, ADD the requirements and tests methods for the
appearance quality, diagonal length difference, surface density,
hardness, impact resistance, bond performance of covering paper and
core material, water absorption rate, surface water absorption amount,
and fire stability.
- In this Standard, ADD the length specifications of a variety of gypsum
plasterboard;
- In this Standard, ADD the thickness specification of 18.0 mm, 21.0 mm,
and 25.0 mm gypsum plasterboard;
- In this Standard, ADJUST one thickness specification of gypsum
plasterboard from 12.5 mm to 12.0 mm;
- In this Standard, ADD the inspection rules;
- In this Standard, ADD the marking, packaging, storage, and transport;
- In this Standard, ADD Appendix A, Appendix B, and Appendix C.
This Standard replaces GB/T 9775-1999 "Gypsum plasterboard".
As compared with GB / T9775-1999, the main changes of this Standard are
as below.
- In this Standard, ADD the requirements and test methods for the
hardness and impact resistance (5.7, 5.8 and 6.5.10, 6.5.11 of this
version);
- In this Standard, ADD the sheet types of water & fire resistant gypsum
plasterboard (3.1 of 1999 version; 4.1.1 of this version);
- In this Standard, ADD the length specifications of 1500 mm, 2440 mm,
3660 mm (3.2.1 of 1999 version; 4.1.3.1 of this version);
- In this Standard, ADD the width specifications of 600 mm, 1220 mm
(3.2.2 of 1999 version; 4.1.3.2 of this version);
- In this Standard, ADJUST the breaking load requirements for the gypsum
plasterboard of different specifications (4.5 of 1999 version; 5.6 of this
version);
- In this Standard, MODIFY the item “unit area mass” into “surface density”
(4.6, 5.3.8, 6.4.2 of 1999 version; 5.5, 6.5.8, 7.4.3 of this version);
- In this Standard, ADD Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C.
Appendix B and Appendix C of this Standard are normative appendixes, AND
Appendix A is informative appendix.

Gypsum plasterboard
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking,
requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage
and transport of gypsum plasterboard.
This standard is applicable to the gypsum plasterboard which is used as the
unloaded interior partition wall AND suspended ceiling in building; it is also
applicable to the base plate for the decorative gypsum plasterboard which
needs secondary facing processing.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this
Standard through reference in this Standard. For the dated references, the
subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to
this Standard; however, parties who reach an agreement based on this
Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents
are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced
document applies.
