Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020
"Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents".
This document replaces GB/T 9445-2015 "Non-destructive testing - Qualification and
certification of personnels". Compared with GB/T 9445-2015, in addition to structural
adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) ADD the terms and definitions of applicants, certification cycle, certification
process, certification requirements, competence, examination, examination
elements, higher education, non-destructive testing personnel, psychological

1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for personnel qualification and certification
using the following industrial non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
2 Normative references
The following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through
normative references in the text. Among them, for dated references, only the version
corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the latest
version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

ISO 18490.2015 Non-destructive testing - Evaluation of vision acuity of NDT
personnel
3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
A written statement, card or other material (e.g., digital certificate) issued by a
qualifying body (3.6) in accordance with the provisions of this document,
indicating that the holder of the certification meets the certification requirements
(3.9).
4 Abbreviations
The nondestructive testing methods and their abbreviations listed in Table 1 apply to
this document.
5 Responsibilities
The established authorized qualification body shall meet the following conditions.
6 Qualification levels
A Level 2 Certified Personnel has demonstrated the ability to perform NDT in
accordance with NDT process specifications. Within the scope of competence specified
in the certificate, and with the authorization of the employer, a Level 2 person may
perform the following tasks.
7 Qualification conditions
In addition to the minimum training time given in Table 2, Level 3 candidates will also
need to complete qualification preparation in different ways depending on their
technical background of the system, including attending other training courses,
attending conferences and seminars, reading books, journals and other professional
printed or electronic materials.
Prior to certification, recertification or renewal, the candidate/certificate holder shall
demonstrate that color vision testing has been carried out within the previous 5 calendar
years.
8 Examinations
The preparation and implementation of the examination shall be further designed, to
ensure the confidentiality and security of the examination questions and examination
papers.
Practical operation specimens shall be maintained and monitored in accordance with
the procedures of the qualifying body, to ensure the consistency and fairness of the
examination.
9 Personnel certification
When the candidate meets all certification requirements, the qualifying body shall grant
the certificate. The certificate shall be valid from the date of the qualifying body's
certification decision.
